If you care about security and privacy, Lenovo is not something you would be considering right now.

Wow. I thought Lenovo was a good company.
Just read the article on gizmodo. I didn't really understand it but it sounded like bad news.

Rumor has it the new MBA will have retina display. I bought MBA off Apples factory refurbished with maxed out ram and hard drive running 1.7. Installed Parallels, Windows 8.1 and Office and have been very happy. When not on the road I use external monitor, bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Works well. If deciding check the refurbished as the deals may make your choice easier.

Lenovo’s Response to Its Dangerous Adware Is Astonishingly Clueless
U.S. government urges Lenovo customers to remove Superfish software
Lenovo CTO Admits it ‘Messed Up’ Allowing Major Security Hole onto PCs
Basically they were so clueless I don't see how anyone can trust them at any point in the near future.

No kidding. I just bought a new laptop yesterday and some Lenovo computers were in the running. Glad I didn't pick them. This is a huge hit to their brand, if the word gets out to the general public.

Pretty terrible, but I always wipe and install my own copy of Windows on laptops anyway, and it's easy to remove this shite regardless (I know the average user won't do that, so that's a shame nonetheless).

Unless you're willing to pirate Windows, probably more economical to just remove the bloatware on the existing install.
Otherwise, get your favorite flavor of Windows, use rufus to put it on a flash drive, download your laptop's drivers from the Acer website and put those on another flash drive, boot to the windows flash drive on your Acer, install, etc. etc.

Yeah, second option is too complicated.
I can remove the bloatware with the standard uninstall program?

SP3 is $100 off right now. Costco also has a good deal. Gonna buy one next week for my wife.

Did you not see all the news about Lenovo or the links I posted?

There stories all over the tech sites. And there are already fixes for superfish. Bgr has a couple.
