Sedona is gorgeous
Just grab one of the hiking trail guides and hit as many as you can. Can't go wrong. My wife and I may go back later this year in conjunction with a Vegas trip.

I've only seen one rattlesnake while hiking and it wasn't in Sedona.
I guess you just aren't trying hard enough.
I have seen the Javelinas too a few times, any idea if they taste good smoked?

Montezuma's castle on the way in. Slide Rock if warm enough. Hiking is great. Jeep Tour. We did a helicopter ride that was cool but daughter did not like.
You will not want to leave.

Now you got me thinking maybe I should take the wife to Sedona instead of Scottsdale. I think she has been to Sedona before, but I'd love to go and take some pictures on the trails, especially the devils backbone trail...although I don't really like heights.

They do have resorts and golf there as well....
I hiked near this resort once and it is pretty amazing looking. Pretty secluded but I've heard it's where many celebs stay when in Sedona.

My favorite place in the world.
And damn I want to see a javelina! I hear they are nasty bastards but want to see it.
Too many awesome hikes to name - but broken arrow to chicken point in the morning before the jeeps are out is always a favorite.

Well I was with a dog hiking group(like 10 dogs with the group) when we saw them. So we were freaking out cause we didn't want the javelinas to see the dogs and charge and didn't want dogs to see javelinas and start going crazy. It was like 10 of them off in a clearing right in front of the trail. We just stopped and distracted our dogs long enough until the herd ran into the forest. Thankfully the dogs and javelinas never saw each other.

Enchantment was the best ever as was eating at Elote. We did't love the town so much but the vortexes interesting and the hiking really great.

If you play golf, there are some nice courses in Sedona.

It's not far at all from the reservations where you can see some wall writings.

Has anyone here been on the Pink Jeep tour? I'm wondering if that will be a good activity to do first, to learn about Sedona before we set off exploring.

Look up Barlow Jeep Rentals. Get a jeep for 24 hours and hit the trails. It was some of the most fun I've ever had on a vacation.
