Did his whole thing start after opening weekend, or did it happen before that?

After opening weekend when some poster got offended by the baseball coverage from the Advocate.

Well, after this weekend and the Nicholls game the gymnastics team will likely be ranked higher.

Breaux Steamroller - Double D on the loose.

And just where is the coverage for the #1 ranked LSU Ultimate team?!?!? This is an outrage!

62*.

Of the 62, the breakdown of the P5 conferences (would have the best facilities and resources to attract the best athletes) is as follows:

ACC - 0
B1G - 9
Big 12 - 3
PAC 12 - 8
SEC - 8

28 P5 programs. There are 36 team playoff spots in the opening regional round. That's right, 36 spots (more than half of the field, BTW) and 28 P5 programs. If you are a P5 gymnastics program and you do not make a regional, your HC should be fired on the spot.

Is gymnastics tough? Yes. Are the gymnasts great athletes? Absolutely. Is it a great, affordable family event? Sure. Do you need to quit bitching? Yes.

What I'm getting at is that I think what our gymnast girls are accomplishing is fantastic, however, if you really want to talk about gymnastics and how the local media doesn't respect them and go on your angry tirades, let's really talk about gymnastics with full disclosure. When you consider the competition and the level of play across the country, what our team is accomplishing, while impressive, is not some great miraculous feat. The truth is our gymnastics program, under it's current leadership, under performed for a very long time, and are now finally competing as they should.

* According to USAgym.

No. Unlike some on this board I want every LSU team in every sport to be undefeated. Its not a zero sum.

My comment was just following the whimsy of this thread and being jovial. Your response is evidence of just how sensitive the baseball zealots can be.

First of all I am not bitching. Simply made the point that a # 2 ranked LSU team vs a # 9 opponent deserved better than page 9 coverage. Wouldn't matter what sport or how many schools participate. Apparently the Advocate agreed and has provided great coverage this week. I am not angry, just pointing out facts.

Then actually the accomplishments of the gymnasts is even more impressive. If 62 teams with about 15 gymnasts per team then only 1,000 gymnasts are at the elite college level compared to the vast numbers of opportunities in other sports. The fact that LSU has 5 or 6 gymnasts ranked in the top ten in various categories, some in multiple events speaks even greater volumes as to how good this team really is.

Apparently, NC State, North Carolina, Pitt and several other schools don't have gymnastics programs...good to know.

A lot of power 5 schools compete in different conferences in gymnastics. You posting this under-researched and uninformed stat about the conference breakdown shows how little you know about NCAA gymnastics so please don't try and talk down about the accomplishments of this team unless you actually know what you are talking about.

I'll take ignorance about the inter-workings of the sport if someone wants to become a fan and learn more. You seem set on just belittling this team though so my patience is at zero.

Good to know.

Is the 62 team statistic incorrect?
