I was a pretty regular watcher of SNL in the 80's and I thought it was pretty funny, but over time it seems the shows are pretty lame. Does anyone think the current SNL's are funny? Or am I just old and don't get today's humor?

SNL has always been so dependent on topical references that many of the old shows don't hold up well, and I doubt if the current ones will either

The past is always better in everyone's mind.

But yeah the talent level back then was so much higher.

SNL is still pretty solid when they do politics.

Those early cast were super star caliber. Hard to match that.

The original SNL cast was the best ever assembled. Will, Farrell, Adam Sandler, Dana Carvey, and a few others have done well but for the most part it's been a suckfest.
