The majority of money given back to academics is in the form of covering cost of athletic scholarships. The foundation raises the money to be able to bond the large capital outlay athletic projects, stadiums, weight rooms, athletic buildings etc...
It then in turn rents these facilities back to LSU. LSU pays TAF $4,000,000.00 a year in rent for the 3 additions to Tiger Stadium.
They are very good at what they do and certainly offset some items but they are primarily set up for athletics and that is what they fund. They don't just wholesale donate a "shite ton" of money to academics. It's not true so he doesn't have to get over it.
They are not funding humanities professors salaries or non athletic building maintenance etc... In fact LSU reimburses TAF for quite a lot.
And for the record I'm a 40 year 8 seat Tiger Stadium season ticket holder and a member of TAF. It is a good device for what it was set up for-LSU Sports.

Don't know if it shows it but you can pull up the TAF 990 forum online. Total assets were north of $400 Million.

"The LSU Board of Supervisors will vote Friday on the LSU Athletics Fund Transfer Policy. Under the
agreement, the Athletic Department would transfer $7.2 million annually — $36 million over five years
— to support university academics."
It passed and that has nothing to do with scholarships.
get over it

Apparently you missed my point. I said they do give but most is in the form of for the student athlete, which your link provides. I'm also aware that having this option to pay for student athletes releases monies that normally would have been used for those reasons to use for non student athletes.
Try reading the TAF financial statements linked and you will see exactly how much is going where.
There is nothing to get over chief. If your an agdoctor from the ag department you aren't getting shite from TAF except maybe the cost of Mike the Tiger.

Seems like you might wanna talk to your buddies in TAF cuz it seems like they don't tell you what's going on...or maybe you just don't have the need to know or not as important in the grand scheme of things as you thought, Mr. I been in taf for 8 years.

TAF claims they are a separate private entity.
How much could LSU get if they straight up sold the rights to LSU football to the HIGHEST bidder?
$40m a year? How much does TAF "give" back?

I don't recall mentioning I'm an 8 year member. I linked a 61 page audited 2013 financial statement which shows exactly what they do with the money. Why not read it instead of making up things. I'm not any more important than the next ticket holder but one thing I can do is read and decifer a document. But apparently I don't have the formula for a "shite ton." Perhaps you can enlighten me Officer Vodka.

Idk but some of the people who donate to TAF should consider donating departments and schools instead -- you know, on account of the governor trying to kill academics at LSU and all.
