Well, it wasn't pretty but we can take some positives away from losing to the #1 team in the SEC on their home floor. The first half was a complete failure. However, I LOVE the way the ladies competed in the second half. We actually "won" the second half 42-38. We don't have the interior to deal with the 3 girls they had that were 6'5". But our ladies did battle. Our guards certainly held their own...............which really isn't that surprising. But their superior size and depth were too much.

Offensively, this was the most balanced I think we've been in quite some time.......

Ballard 16 pts 12 reb
Boykin 14 pts 12 reb (I'm really loving her game!)
Pedersen 11 pts
Moncrief 10 pts 5 ast
Hill 9 pts

Here's the video highlights......

Geaux Tigers!

Now its time to start a new streak. We can still finish in the top four teams in the conference, and get the SEC tournament first round bye.

Not surprising just brush it off and spend the next week getting ready to sweep the last 4. Arky and OM on the road might be tougher than UGA who's fallen off a cliff. It's not crazy that they might miss out on the tourney altogether now. If they lose to us and UT and in their 1st game of the SEC tourney they'd be 2-8 in their last 10 and they've only got one good win on their schedule(A&M).

The way things are shaping up down the stretch
MSU might have only one more loss (@ S. Carolina). UK is up one game but they've still got USC and UT left but we also need them to beat A&M.
A 3-1 finish probably keeps us in the top 4 but 2-2 we'd need some big upsets.

I liked our ball movement, if Rina Hill and Pederesen can be consistent with the outside jumpers we are pretty deadly. I thought this game showed the what this team lacks badly. Great post play. Boykin is solid but we need another big girl who is athletic, taller and can score. South Carolina was killed us rebounding the ball. Got so many second chance opportunities. Last year we had the luxury of having Plaissance and McKinney, they were great rebounders. I think we are missing the last key piece. I really hope Ayanna Mitchell will step up next season. Caldwell will always add someone else as well to this class. I am most interested in seeing who she will hire after the season. I think this next hire will be one of the more critical decisions here at LSU. If she can hire a BeBe for basketball this will be a consistent top 15 program. We should be Geogria next week. I think 10 wins and a win in the SEC tournament has us in

I think coach Caldwell is doing a good job coaching, but the recruiting has to improve to restore this program to its former level.

Women's Basketball "Pumpers" and "Sand Headers." Lose by 24 and still making excuses for the blow out.

BTW, isn't the $900,000 woman in year 4 now?
