I'm sure this has been posted in the past, but I've never seen it: LINK
Pretty bizarre seeing some of those people 12 years younger and before they were famous. I think most people would say they went the right direction with their casting. Only one I think might have been pretty good is Bob Odenkirk, but it still would've been a different interpretation of Michael...more of an arrogant douche (ala Saul Goodman), not the lovable idiot that Carrell gave us. And it's easy to say in hindsight, but Rain Wilson was the clear choice for Dwight
Would have loved to see some Creed auditions

Adam Scott would have been a sensational Jim...even though I liked Krazinski a lot, and as awesome as Steve Carrell was as Michael, Bob Odernkirk would have killed that role!

Season 1 Michael was a little more arrogant, with the slicked back, greasy hair look.

True, forgot about him. Also the girl that was his wife in step brothers might've been funnier as Pam. Stonestreet might have been a good Kevin too

There is an episode of the Office where Bob Odenkirk plays a Michael like character. I think it's when Pam gets a job in Philly in season 9.

That's because there was no typical casting process for creed. Creed was a Backround actor who pitched his creed character to Greg Daniels.

yea, when pam looks for a job in philly to move for jim and she realizes that the job would be like the exact same position at dunder mifflin but as a receptionist again

Some of those people would have been TERRIBLE. Glad they cast who they cast.

John Cho would have been great as Jim. They nailed it with Krazinski (sp) obviously
Rainn was a homerun too...I love Seth Rogen but at him as Dwight

Dwight and Pam couldn't have been any other actor. Jim was great but Adam Scott could have done it well. Bob Odinkirk would have been okay too but yeah, he's not as lovable.

Now that it's mentioned I feel like he basically plays a more nerdy Jim on Parks and Rec anyways

I'm pretty sure every cast member from Step Brothers and / or The Goods auditioned.

It's funny watching Krasinski in real life interviews. Basically he is Jim. What you see on the show is pretty much how he is. Awkward and sarcastic.

Stonestreet as Kevin would have been pretty funny

Yea, we should probably pump the brakes on Bob Odenkirk. The dude is great as Saul Goodman, but Steve Carrell basically is Michael Scott. No one could have played that role better than him and the show definitely would not have come close to 9 seasons with anyone other than Carrell as Michael Scott.
