4-6, then 1-3. While the prequels are disappointing you should still watch them so you have that experience. Don't bother with the specific watch order crap, just see them in their release date sequence.

Am I the only one who thought Return of the Jedi was terrible? fricking Ewoks ruined the movie for me.
I've never understood this. Would I have preferred less of them? Sire. Still liked the movie a lot.

1) It doesn't spoil the "I am your father" reveal, because you watch 4 and 5 before the prequels.
2) It eliminates The Phantom Menace, which is really pointless overall and adds nothing to the plot. You miss out on Darth Maul... but you also avoid young Anakin.

It also gets rid of the WTF moments when Hayden Christiansen shows up as a force ghost at the end of Jedi, and you hear Jar-Jar yell "We'sa be free!!" as well (well you still may be WTF at that one.

I've always agreed that you should watch them in the order that they were released.

IMO it's pretty stupid to do anything other than that. As much as people want to change history, they can't...so why not watch them in their original order and decide for yourself what you like and what sucks..?

The father reveal is the only reason. No idea what I would do now. Hard to say since I saw IV when I was ten.

Watch in order if your not a Star Wars nerd. You actually learn some things in the prequels and that way the originals can take the sour taste out of your mouth that is the prequels

Machete Order. 4-5-2-3-6. Watch 1 if you want but view it as its own stand-alone piece like the Clone Wars cartoon series.

I'd definitely watch them all. The first time I saw Star Wars was with all the changes so I never saw the precious original version that the diehards refer to. And part 3 really isn't that bad at all. Parts 1 and 2 aren't the greatest mainly due to shitty acting IMO but I would want to see the complete story even if it's just the one time.

You never see him, but on the BluRay after the Death Star is destroyed and the various systems are celebrating, when they show one planet, you hear a Jar-Jar voice saying "Wesa be free!!"

4-6 first. Don't skip the prequels as some are suggesting. They're not nearly as bad as the internet says they are.

Why so much hate for the Phantom Menace. That was a great movie.
