I have the Fire TV on one TV and a Firestick on the other. Both work great, but if you have a cat line run to where the tv is, the Fire TV is best.

Switch with POE UniFi Switch 8 60W POE Access Point UniFi AC Pro

Explain this to me like I'm an 8 year old (probably bad example, an 8 year old would probably understand this)
The pro is only available in a 5 pack, do I need a 5 pack? Does the switch plug into the access point and that is what I use to connect the Ethernet connections?

You are correct except the main difference is he doesn't have to pull ethernet cords for the ones I listed

3 of the tvs already have Ethernet run to them. 2 will run via wireless. I would like 8 ports from the router if possible. 3 for the tvs, 1 for the computer, 1 for the arlo base, and I'd like to have a few options for expansion. When I upgrade my wink1 to a wink 2, I will need a port for that as well.

How large is your house? Two story? How big is your budget? How many homes or apartments are close to you, like, real close?

House is about 3000 sq ft, but have a detached garage that wifi will need to reach for a tv. house is 1 story. I don't have close neighbors at all.

If you don't have screaming internet service and devices that need the speed of an AC router, and are on a budget, this works: Asus RT-N66U
I currently have the slowest internet speed my provider has, and this good for what I do now, but if I do this I will probably upgrade to a higher package, either 50 down/25 up or 100/down 50 up.
I don't do a lot of gaming at all. I would probably have 1-2 tvs most of the time. A third going sometimes.
In addition to the devices above, I also have and Echo and a couple of dots that use wifi also.

wireless router recommendation

Posted by tenortoga on 6/14/17 at 1:13 pm
Thinking about finally cutting the cord. Any recommendations for routers to replace the one from my cable provider. I remember seeing a post about this a while back with some discussion about what are legitimate functions vs. marketing but can't seem to find it. I would like to have at least 8 ports.
Current wireless needs include 2 thermostats, wink hub, 4 arlo, 2 ring, x box, multiple phones and tablets. Would probably be using Ethernet for 3 Tvs and wireless for 2.

They work great by Fred's in Port Vincent, but it would work poorly on Highway 30 by Tanger and I-10 with all of the 18-wheelers coming out of the plants.

Interesting that you should say that, the State is looking at putting 3 of them in that stretch.

Was anyone able to get a good look at the rest of the villains on the bus? I think I saw Killer Croc and The Mad Hatter. I didn't really get a good enough look at anyone else to determine who they were.

This is assuming you otherwise qualify for the credit and did all the documentation correct, etc.

What exactly does this mean? I filed my 2012 tax return claiming the credit for a F-150 I purchased that, at the time, qualified because it was "flex-fuel." I received a Letter of Adjustment from LDR saying they were removing the credit from my return because "flex-fuel" didn't apply. (I purchased the vehicle a few months before they changed the rule - vehicle was purchased in April I believe the interpretation change was made in June or July if I remember correctly).
Is there anything I can do now to get my credit back?

I know what the cartoon was. I was just hoping for an abbreviated version of mauls story.

Me to. My son and I were watching and when he saw Maul he got really confused. I didn't know what to tell him as neither of us have seen Clone Wars. So if someone could give me an abbreviated version that I can explain to him, it would be appreciated.

re: Les miles clause

As I understand it if Les is fired, any assistant with the clause that is not retained by the new staff only gets a buyout of 6 months. whereas any staff that does not have the clause would get their entire buyout.

We paid cash for the property. We bought it for our son to live in while he was at LSU. He had a roommate who paid rent. It was never geared to be an investment property for us. When they moved out they had friends who wanted to move in. And it's been rented out by referrals since Jan 2010. It's been a low maintenance property for us. Every tenant has paid on time and I don't recall ever retaining a security deposit. We would like the funds for a project at our new home. There are advantages to owning this property when it comes to tax time. I'm sure my husband could tell you what we actually "make" on this property. I don't really know or care.

I'm actually looking to buy a LSU condo to do this exact thing right now. Mine will be college age in 3 years. Looking to buy now, keep a renter there and in 3 years, if my child goes to LSU, move them in with a roommate paying rent. After that, I have enough nieces and nephews spaced out that if 1/2 of them go to LSU I have a built in tenant base for the next 20 years. How can I contact you about your unit?

Yes it did. Matt called the Athletic Department to get a number for Alexander, and they gave him the number for the wrong one. They set up the interview, get him on the phone and as Matt is doing the introduction, Alexander realized that Matt wanted to talk to the other one, panicked and hung up the phone.

I did pick up some osram recessed rgbw lights though.

I have a question about these. I have 6 cans on my front porch that I am thinking of replacing with these. I want to be able to change colors with holidays,etc.. I want to be able to schedule them to go on and off together and, at Christmas, group them with the other Christmas lights to all go on at once. Will these lights work with wink so that they can be put in groups, short cuts, robots etc...? The current switch for the porch is a dumb switch, do I need to replace the switch to a smart one, or does the app that lets you change the colors also control on/off, schedules etc...?

Jerky, Beef Sticks and Garlic Sausage. If you want to try something different, grab some crawfish boudin and boudin burritos.
Any recommendations for an inexpensive temperature sensor that is wink compatible? I want to set up a robot to have an outlink turn on if the temp in a specific room goes below a certain temperature, and then turn off if it goes above a different temperature. Having trouble finding something.

I second this. Used this guy to convert a bunch of home movies. Easy to deal with and reasonably priced.
So here are the specifics:
TV: Samsung UN55JU6400FXZA
Receiver : Pioneer VSX-D712-K
Blue Ray: Magnavox NB500MG1FC
Cable Box: Cisco ISB7150

The TV, cable box and blue ray all have HDMI. The receiver does not. The TV does have an optical audio out option. I am thinking I can run HDMIs from Blue Ray and cable box to TV and optical audio from TV to receiver. Would that allow me get audio over the surround for both cable and DVD player?

He didn't even really mention how to get uncompressed/lossless 4k content on his TV

With the components I have now how much loss am I getting?

My recommendation: Hook up what you've got and enjoy it for now. Worry about upgrading to 4k sources later.

That's my plan for now. Im thinking the receiver may be the next upgrade. Possibly this time next year. Approximately how much would I be looking to spend on a receiver that can process the signal correctly without loss and has at least 2 zones.
Additional possible options would be a receiver that can transmit audio to a set of Bluetooth speakers I have by the pool approximately 300 feet away (if such an option even exists.

I bought it last year because cad was talking this shite up like it was a NASA milineal invention. Waited on all the rooting hooplah to get sorted out and eventually lost interest and threw it in my office cabinet. Never even opened the damn thing.

Ill take it off your hands for $2.00. That's a $100% ROI over a year. You cant even find those returns on the money board. LOL.
