I don't see it being a problem. If you want great beer, the Chimes is next door. But if I'm going to a place to play Mortal Kombat, I'm not really worried that much about trying some new beer. Bud heavy will get the job done.

Are the waitresses hot?

To be fair, my daytime visits have always been on "party" days. I imagine on a random Monday, the place is fine for kids.
I imagine this new location is focusing on attracting the college kids right now.
5:45 on a Friday night during opening weekend.. Not surprised they had the music pumped up. They had the music pumped up last time I went to the New Orleans location at dinnertime. They wouldn't even turn on the sound for the lsu game because they wanted the music going

They turned off country music on the jukebox and the bartender informed everyone, "THIS IS NOT THE TEXAS CLUB!"
The doubles are 11 or 12 dollars from what I was told. I got domestics for 3.50 so not horrible but not great. The games are really cheap and some free. I haven't had the food yet at this location.
Overall, I think it has potential. A few more televisions would be huge IMO. I had fun there and can see it being in the mix for places to frequent in BR.

Oh, and which days aren't party days in NOLA?

This is something the location will need, but I wonder if they'll do it. Like I said, I went to the one in NOLA for the LSU-A&M game and was told explicitly no when we asked if the sound would be turned on.

Well, I was helping back your point. The times I've been during the day were complete shite shows (Red Dress Run, etc.) and not at all kid-friendly so it has always been filed under "bar" in my mind and I'd never think to take children there. You're saying that you take your kids with no issue, so I assume I must have just visited during the wrong times :)
I think BR will (or SHOULD) be more kid friendly since we aren't such a party city, but I am also not surprised that Milo had that bar experience when he visited at 6pm on opening Friday.

Yeah once the garage doors open, and it becomes more open to the street, I would take my kids back for lunch on the patio. They have the latge connect 4 and some other games out there.
But never again on a Fri evening

Don't drink their draft beer if they have the same cleaning process as the New Orleans location. It is pretty pathetic

Went in there Sunday evening for a burger and beer (6:30pm-ish), I sat at the bar. Atmosphere was good, crowd was younger but not blatantly a college crowd. Burger was excellent. They must have had a busy weekend because most of their taps were run dry.
However, don't know if it was just this particular staff but they have some service kinks to work out. At one point a guy came to the bar next to where I was sitting and asked what beer they still had on tap, to which the bartender replied "You'll have to look at the taps, I know we ran out of a bunch of them this weekend." In addition whoever they had running food to the bar either (a) wasn't communicating to the bar staff, or (b) the bar staff wasn't taking ownership of the bar. The runner would bring the food out and it would just sit at the bar for 5 minutes (otherwise known as an eternity if you're waiting for food) and then, eventually, the bartender would attempt to figure out who had ordered it.

That's the point of a soft opening.
Only been open a week and were packed every night it seemed. Once things settle down they'll figure it out

I hope so. I think the concept compliments the North Gate area well, and I'll certainly head back.

Went Friday. Burger and fries were fantastic as always. Their wings were really something special. Absolutely exceptional.

Barcadia BR needs an Arcade Legends 3 with a three inch tracker ball.

They also need that badass Star Wars X-Wing game from the NOLA location.

I was hoping it would have more of a sports bar feel but there are only a handful of TVs in the main room. More of a Bulldog type feel.
