I gotta be honest with you, as someone who doesn't make a whole lot of money it kinda feels good to hear that overpaid oilfield workers are getting a dose of reality.

Feels good knowing that I only work 6 months a year and probably make at least double what you make

and just think, every time you fill up your car, especially once gas gets to about $5, you're putting money right into my pockets

frickin poors....

I'm not in O&G, but I'm in an industry closely tied to it. (Steel)

I don't get the people rejoicing at others being laid off either. I guess it could be fed by the arrogance shown by some trashy O&G workers.

Another thing I also don't get is that the oil people all make fun and say "get off your arse and go make some frickin' money if you want more money." Then, when someone starts a thread wanting to get into O&G all the O&G people shite their pants and tell the person to essentially "frick off" or "you can't just jump into O&G" or some variation of that. So, how did all you O&G people (non engineers) get started then? Oh, like always...nepotism or who you know (or who you blow).

Self-employed so no pay cut here and the longer oil prices stay down the busier I will eventually be.

No no.

Don't you get it? Low oil prices are a detriment to everybody.

Which is why more people will lose their homes, and like the vulture I am, I will profit off of it.

Shouldn't you be cooking some students a balanced meal instead of spouting off your ignorance?

Is that the project Bushmaster is on? I know he is on one of those LNG expansions in Cameron. Might want to ask him.

I think it's funny when blue collar trash boasts about the scraps they earn. PEASANT.

I see a lot of hatred and fear in this thread, it's a nice mix of both, and it's really good comedy to the people on the outside looking in, keep up the good work.

Probably why I like the industry. No Occupy Wall Street types in it.

Their industry is called "living off of inherited money."
