I think the flaw in your logic is that you are concentrating on one play. He had to do a lot of good things (and overcome some bad things) to get his team to be in that position. And, as others have said he had to do a lot during the regular season and playoffs to even be there.

So a Superbowl ring represents much more than just one play.

Your logic is off. You're trying to use one play as an example of why SB rings don't matter, all while ignoring everything that makes them the most coveted hardware in sports, and that's a full season's body of work topped off with performing on the ultimate stage.

Sure in this case you could say Brady isn't much different whether the Seahawks score there or not, but this is a unique example considering he's the only QB to play in 6 SB's. His legacy is pretty much defined. Go ask Jim Kelly if rings are irrelevant.

Unless it was Wilson with those rings.

Pete Carroll only had an opportunity to completely frick the play call up b/c Kearse had a flukey, lucky as shite catch to get Seattle near the goal line.

Brady led NE to the go ahead score and has 4 rings.

Have to love how your typical stupid fan thinks. Ball thrown up into coverage gets defended and deflected and as the WR falls back on his arse the ball falls into lap after bouncing off his leg. However, when the CB jumps the route and makes a play on the ball its called "a gift", "a lucky play" or a "gaffe".

Excuses are like assholes, great play by the CB.

Your argument is that it's really about the stats, meaning, whether or not Butler gets the INT, Brady's stats are the same at the end of the game, therefore he's no better or worse? Right?

Or that because he had no effect on that single moment of the game that he's no better or worse?

He just tied for the most wins by a qb in Super Bowl history! It's a big deal.

Sorry you lost your bet

This thread is basically equivalent to saying, "Winning is mostly irrelevant."

I mean, win or lose, the players are just as good either way. Right?

They were down 10 points late in the superbowl and he drove his team down the field for 2 touch downs on the last two drives to win the SUPER BOWL. Like it or not, Brady is Montana status now. Actually he passes Montana in my book, in terms of Greatness.
