You are paying for lazy, stupid people who don't work and those with preexisting conditions. You are paying for "the collective" not yourself. You are a wage slave. Don't be a racist and embrace your role.

So you know your cholesterol and triglyceride levels?
I don't need those figures, I guarantee they're low. I don't eat food that could possibly lead to high cholesterol. I eat almost solely fruits and vegetables, zero fast food, no sodas/sugary crap like most Americans.

I don't get sniffles. I told you, I'm healthy. Not "I don't get deathly ill" healthy. I'm really healthy. My immune system is bangin' on all cylinders. I could let someone with 8 strands of flu cough in my mouth and I'd be grossed out as frick but I wouldn't catch shite.

Because they seem to be the only ones surprised by the increase in healthcare costs.
Posted on 1/28/15 at 10:41 pm to Casty McBoozer
Don't know how/why that happened. When I changed jobs, my new company policy was going to cost my family $1750 (job pays half for me=$350). Got on the health exchange and got a Blue Cross policy (high deduct) for $200-$300 (after subsidy) It was a nightmare dealing with the bureaucratic tape but obviously well worth the savings. Might want to investigate further.

Even with skyrocketing healthcare costs, $600 seems pretty high. You probably have a great policy, take advantage.

Cancer patients and cancer doctors appreciate your monthly contributions to their needs.

So I tell you guys I can't afford to live with my policy and your suggestion is to go pay for co-pays for no reason?

Relax. The gov will subsidize your new home after they are finished making you poor.

Does not matter. You still get sick…you could easily get in a MVA and have incredible cost. (My accident, transected aorta, multiple fractures, helicopter ride cost close to a million dollars)…with insurance, you only pay a deductible.

I'm your age, and I pay $600 per month for a high deductible health plan with an hsa for my family of 3. If you never go to the doctor, you really should decline health insurance through your job and look into buying it on your own. You'll probably end up paying 1/3 the premium and be able to stash money away in an hsa to cover your deductible should you end up in the ER or hospital with a real emergency.

I'll agree with you $300 a month just for yourself is quite a bit noting that the total insurance bill per month is $600. My company keeps raising ours to where I am now paying $190 per month, for myself and my wife, but the company pays $850 so I guess it's still a pretty good deal, but there was a time I didn't have to pay anything. Just because you are healthy and only 35 years old really has little to do with your medical bills should you for some reason like possibly an accident need to spend time in a hospital. A few days of those bills would likely put a normal person in a deep hole that it might take years to get out of without your health insurance.

You should have annual bloodwork and a physical examination done yearly, but I think understand what you mean. It's an absolute travesty that someone like you (or me, for that matter), can no longer hold a disaster plan (~$100-150/mo, $7-10,000 deductible, no benefits otherwise) and pay cash for the one physical a year.
