What's the latest on Hubig Pies? Did Zapp's buy the company? Will we see them again?
Some guy used to sell them in Mobile and they were delicious. Been a while since I've seen them. Thanks

I believe last I heard the 2 partners weren't in agreement on rebuilding.

Most overrated gas station food on the planet.
But god do I miss them.

Agree that the pies were, objectively, pretty terrible. But I miss them too. A coconut Hubigs, warm from sitting in the sun, eaten while holding a fishing line. That's what I miss, more than the flavor.

Sociology research:
Did your family say "Hugh-big" or "You-big"?

Being it is a New Orleans product there are at least three ways to pronounce it and none are correct.

We were a "You-big" family.
Anyone grab a pie from HughPig's at Hogs for the Cause last year?

For a while, I was sad every time I heard the name Hubig.
I've moved on... now I'm just frickin angry. If the partners can't get along, sell the rights and let some try.
I still remember the morning of the fire, I was an hour late to work because I stopped at 5 gas station and 2 groceries buying all the ones I could find. Got about 30 pies which I ate in way too short of a time period.

No wonder you thought they were terrible, you were eating freaking coconut.
