This looks like a cool river running toy.

Could also have some practical uses. Need to put some storage on it, but they are still in the processes of designing and refining. You can definitely put it in waters that traditional jetski's can't go. May could also have some hunting/fishing applications like a 4-runner in the future.

It's just a jetski man. I had one in high school
Used to fish off of it all the time

Not quite. Look at the specs. You can go anywhere there's a little bit of water with this thing. LINK

While the AlumaSki could be used in any number of places, it's intended particularly for exploring shallow, rocky rivers that are too narrow for a boat and too fiberglass-unfriendly for a Jet Ski. It has a very stable almost-flat bottom, drawing 6 inches (15 cm) of water when idling and 2 to 3 when moving – depending on the speed and payload.
Power is provided by a water-cooled, electronic fuel-injected Yamaha 1,052cc 4-cylinder, 4-stroke marine engine, that provides 110 hp. The craft is reportedly able to travel at up to 60 mph (97 km/h).
quote:
In order to keep the weight down, the non-hull parts of its body are constructed of thinner marine-grade 3/16-inch aluminum. It has a dry weight of 950 lb (430 kg), can carry up to 1,000 lb (454 kg), and is 12 feet long by five feet wide (3.7 by 1.5 m).
I'll certainly wait for the price to drop though.

Sweet. I'll take a couple.

I dont get how this is any different than a regular jetski?

Will it run marsh?
Yep. It's essentially a personal jetboat. Only draws 6" of water when stopped and 3 max when moving.

24k starting. I can get some serious toys for the river for that amount. It is a cool toy though.

I have some jet skis and sucking up some lily pads or water hyacinth in the jet drive will shut them down with quickness.

Guy on our lake has made a tiny little aluminum boat using a jetski motor. it sits 2 side x side and has a steering wheel. It doesnt draft much at all looks like a tiny little closed bow ski boat.

I don't get the impression that this would be any different. Looks like these are built for rocky rivers. That leads me to believe they would encounter the same problems as a typical ski. I do know the jet foot guys who run around here change out the impeller from aluminum to stainless. They last a lot longer in the sand and pebbles. Maybe that is something that would come standard on here.

I don't think it is, it's just aluminum

Builders say it's good for skinny boating in marshy conditions, there's a lot of that in permafrost areas up here.
This is where I would love to take it. Moose hunting back up in here but only accessible by jet boat, plane or air boat.
LINK Couple of the guys I hang out with.

It looks like a fantastic toy. I bet it's a blast to use up there, but I don't see it running hyacinth. From what I have seen in jet skis and jet foot boats is that they don't need much water to operate, but they need water. Any little amount of air or debris pretty much disables the impellers and takes away all the power.
Looks great for rocks though.

That thing is legit.

This is actually the first thing that came to mind. I've always wanted to kill a moose.

seems like fun as long as you remember you can't slow down on those rapids since you will lose your steering.
