hes more polished than franks, but its not like either one is gonna step in and start as a freshman. i worry about these highly structured, super coached up, topped out "5 star" qbs. his arm isnt that great and how much better is he gonna get?

ill take franks over patterson. ill take both obviously, but give me felipe if it comes down to it.

I hope we are both wrong. You have to be an NFL level starter to be successful in this offense.

Who cares!! I could care less if they go pro. GET US A CHAMPIONSHIP OR TWO!!

Excellent Point - remember the only consistent in a decade is MILES. We have run through several OCs and all of them cannot suck.

Brandon Harris - most recent example of Miles QB use and development. He was only a Top 3 Nationally Ranked QB that was banished to the bench behind a QB worse than JJ (which we never thought could exist).
Jennings never improved from the Iowa Bowl game to the recent loss to Notre Dame. Hate to say it but that is pretty difficult for even the worse coach to pull off.

See this logic doesn't make sense to me....obviously LSU has had issues with developing QBs the last couple years so you'd rather bet on a guy who has a "higher ceiling" that may not get developed any better than a QB who is already polished and pretty much just needs to learn the play book?

Not sure the problem is just learning the playbook with the LSU QB production. Perception and Opinion appear to be that no High School QB is competent or ready to lead a team to a championship. It supposedly takes years of coaching and development to be a successful college QB.
It may be the lack of competent coaching, the play calling, the game plan or some combination thereof. Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed like yesterday. Enough already is an understatement.
Who knows the answer but what we do know is that no one person is or should be expected to be the savior immediately. We have a decade of experience with Miles and 4 different OCs that tell us otherwise.

Just to clarify... Russell Wilson that threw 5 interceptions last week?

Wilson was an excellent college QB. I don't care what happens in the NFL.

Patterson's movement, mannerisms, and even delivery remind me of Manziel

I saw the same thing, but feel Patterson was more Tony Romo-esque than Manziel in his passing on the run. At A&M Manziel relied on his 6'5" receivers to jump up and get a ball that was thrown up for grabs and against most teams (other than LSU) it worked.

His football Smart's are needed more than his arm strength. His HS offense mostly requires short quick passes. I have seen him thread the needle with zip when needed. I have no issue with his arm strength.

I believe its obvious that Franks has more physical potential. Wait and see who can see the field and anticipate where each receiver is going to be when the ball arrives.
Whoever learns the play book, and moves the team will, or should, be the man.

Wait, I thought Brandon Harris closed the door! you mean to tell me he left if open?

All that shite sounds good but Shea better learn how to play in a prostyle offense before he gets here or he will be another Brandon Harris...

i think patterson is very open to being a tiger, so there is no reason not to support him, also

remember, the best LSU QB ever (Jamarcus) and our last NC-winning QB (flynn) were recruited in the same year

My friend..no offense...Patterson>Franks. He is a "Manning" type QB. Total understanding of the game that is natural to him.

I absolutely agree that both would be a great haul. But Franks has been loyal to us for a while and we shouldn't constantly post about someone who isn't comitted when we have a stud that is solid you sand we don't show him any appreciation. We have like one thread for franks to every 10 for Patterson.

People need to calm down....y'all really think players are gonna come on here and read what all y'all post an it make them not wanna go to LSU? If franks decommits cause we had more threads about Patterson than franks then I definetly don't want the guy. It's football forum....we talk football. And the reason Patterson is what everyone talks about is cause he is an instate QB who is the #1 in his class and Louisiana doesn't get that often. Everybody just needs to chill
