I think wearing a tux is a bit ridiculous
100% agree.. I hate wearing one, but I have a good time and get a night out without kids and have adult conversation ...
What Ball are you attending?

being 17 makes me less intelligent then someone because they are 40? Another thing adults get wrong. There are quite a few that have more EXPERIENCE not INTELLIGENCE
I remember when I was 17 and thought I knew everything....
You'll look back one day and realize how much of an idiot you were.....

Boogaloo is fun, and you don't have to get tuxed up.
I had a great time at the Balls here, but things got out of hand usually. Last one I went to resulted in a 4 hour ER visit.

you are right kids do love it, but adults go fricking crazy over, they are missing the point that it is something their kids should enjoy more than them.
Whoa, that is an impressively horrible attitude to have on life. Once you grow up and have kids, you need to cut out that fun having crap. Fun isn't for adults. It's the exclusive domain of kids. Sure, that's a great idea.

I'm going to assume you aren't married, don't have children, and probably don't have a whole lot of responsibilities.

This. It happens to everyone, no matter how smart they were at 17.

And some people wake up at 45 or 50 and put on a tux and make an arse of themselves pulling out weiner in front of teenagers at a mardi Gras ball and they are just as much of an idiot as the 17 year old
