Tom Thibodeau "on the hotseat"

I told you yesterday about mutterings I have heard around the league that Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has lost his locker room. The last night, Derrick Rose poured jet fuel on the fire with some of the strongest comments he has made as a professional, including “we are not on the same page.” Rose rarely if ever uses expletives, but he used them Monday night after the Bulls got crushed by the Cavs 108-94.
A source close to the Bulls tells SheridanHoops that eating the remaining money (roughly $11 million) and years (two after this season) on Thibodeau’s contract will not be a concern to management or ownership if they decide to fire him.
The feeling among some players in the locker room is that Thibodeau is simply too hardcore, too much of an oddball personality, and runs his best players into the ground both in practices and games.

People close to the organization have told me that relations between Thibodeau and the front office have improved in the two years since assistant coach Ron Adams was let go against Thibodeau’s wishes, but I have heard enough anecdotes from people close to the team to realize that Thibodeau still views Bulls management with a jaundiced eye. And some have told me that team president John Paxson remains lukewarm at best regarding Thibs.

First of all, this is Chris Sheridan, who is wrong about almost everything.
But DAMN. I would jizz my pants if they decided to part ways with Thibs and he came here.
To add fuel to the fire, their are multiple Chicago journalists and bloggers that are saying similar things.
The Bulls called off practice today, fyi.

I don't think this is true, at all.

Wouldn't happen. I can see big teams going after him.

AD would be run down by the time his third contract came into play.

Uh...Sheridan is a joke. He constantly throws bullshite at the wall and promotes himself like crazy and is generally way wrong.
I think he got Lebron right (finally) and was on the promotional circuit tooting his own horn like crazy. But yeah, he's not reliable.
Anyway...Thibs with Jrue/Davis/Asik...Yeah.

This might sound like those dudes on the OT who call Kate Upton fat, or Giselle ugly, but I dont think Thibs would be a great fit here.

Cleveland, for one. If Lebron is willing to grind like that.
But I think he would definitely consider us. He interviewed with us multiple times before he took the Chicago job, and now he's got AD here.

While his firing may not be imminent, the fact that he hasn't gotten along with management for the last couple of years says a lot.
Chicago's expectations have to be finals or bust at this point. With a strained relationship with the FO to begin with I don't imagine he'll have a long leash if they keep coming up short. Especially this year, if there were a ever a year to take charge of the East it's now.

Cleveland has their core locked up for this year and only this year.
We have AD locked up for 5 more years.

They seemed to play pretty well when Rose was out injured the last 2 seasons.

Why do we want a guy who reportedly runs his players to the ground? I know he's a great coach but these reports don't sound favorable.

we had no owner then no direction

Yeah. Thibs has not gotten along with Chicago management for awhile. It is heavily documented. He thinks they are cheap, and he was PISSED when they forced him to fire his assistant Ron Adams. He wanted full control over his assistants, which is obviously something he will demand wherever he goes.
It might just be time to move on.
Dude is a HELLUVA coach. He has developed talent, consistently had a great defense, and made the playoffs with a superstar (?) player missing two full seasons.
Maybe he's got a grating personality, but I'm willing to take my chance on him, no question.
I could see the Lakers also taking a run at him.

He is not cajun. He does not pronounce his name the cajun way. Its pronounced THibodeau.
No bad blood. He interviewed multiple times for the job but took the Chicago job instead. We were owned by the league at the time, and Dell wasn't even the GM yet.
