We honestly need a guy like him who's more rangy. But I don't see him fitting well with us right now. He's very Lavonte David like

i would really like to see kwon with the saints. he definitely has the frame to put on more size.

Lavotne David seems like a good comparison until you look at the stats.
David was a beast compared to Alexander.
Not that Kwon isnt good, I just dont think he is near Lavonte David.

he's graded as UDFA on some draft sites I've read, so no, they probably won't

He'll test really well though, so you never know until the combine. If he runs a 4.5 or lower he'll shoot up draft boards.

I like Kwon a lot. I don't think he will be a pro bowler or anything, but I think he will be a good player. He's just makes plays.

Thank God no one came with that "is it because he goes to LSU" crap. Like we can't draft LSU players

He's not even 230 lbs. That's usually a no no in a 3-4 defense but with all the different looks and schemes we use now, I'm not even sure it matters. I just want an elite corner, just one is all I ask. Someone who can line up with anyone, play man and stay with their guy. I am so fricking sick of seeing passes completed followed by one or two guys shrugging their shoulders because they aren't sure who was supposed to be covering the guy.

He's undersized and I'm not sure about his cover abilities...his speed, instincts, and tackling are legit though. I'm not sure I'd use a draft pick on him unless he blows up at the combine. He'd be a steal to pick up as a UDFA. Typical boom/bust guy. I wouldn't consider drafting him until the 5th round at the very earliest.

Thoughts on Kwon after his combine showing?
quote:
4. LSU's Kwon Alexander ran a 4.55 40-yard dash to lead the combine linebackers. He's also one of the smallest at 6-1 and 227 pounds, so that's not altogether a surprise. But it was important for the early-entry junior to establish himself as one of the most athletic options at the position, one who can play special teams and on third down, and Alexander did just that.

I think the big, downhill type linebackers will slowly start to wash out assuming NFL teams continue this transition towards the primarily dominated vertical passing game within the spread concept of offense. More teams are going 3-4 wide now than ever, and an athletic linebacker like Kwon Alexander could fit well in a defense.
Take Landon Collins for example, he could be a 1st-2nd down thumper at safety, and then flex down to linebacker in 2nd-3rd and long. His size, range and tackling ability allows him to do that.

I posted before my thoughts on needs of the def.
Speed more speed and a nose for the ball.
LB'ers with the ability to cover added.
This draft on its face looks horrible for OLB'ers. Not that we like to draft them anyway!

I've seen a couple of sites say he will be an UDFA. The highest I've seen anyone project is 4th round.

You don't have to be 6'4 and 240 to be a nfl olber. He has the speed the football IQ to make a roster and be drafted atleast by the 3rd
