This is all about money. Alleva didn't want to match A&M for Chavis and he refused to pony up a big contract for a new DC. In order to get a decent DC you have to pay them at least face value and ALLEVA was bot willing to do that. So, LSU gets stuck shopping at Save- A-Lot instead of paying top dollar at Rouse's for Shoop/Smart. ..heck I wouldve taken a bargain from Costco and bought 2 for 1 with Pendergast & BeBe

As far as quality goes, this is like LSU buying the Lampoon's Vacation, European Vacation, and Vegas Vacation bundle out of the 5 for $5 bin,rather than buying the new release blu-ray on Tuesday.

Now a thread about LSU running off Chavis to save a couple hundred thousand a year.... Chavis left b/c he wanted a guaranteed contract year after a HC was possibly not retained. That's it. It wasn't to save a hundred thousand on a cheap DC
