Possible connection- Joe Cullen for LSU DC?

Looks like defensive staff at TB will have some turnover. Cullen. Is DL coach. Coached at LSU in 99 as DL coach and Indiana, though he was there the year after Cam left.
Doesn't fit the big splash hire rumor, but the 'resume not the name' rumor.
He was also the one fired from Detroit from driving through the Wendy's drive thru naked.

Was said earlier in the week that or new DC is a current DC

We hired the LB coach from the Bucs last year and it worked out for us. People too often only want the big name.

I wonder if he pulled up to the window and asked them to 'Hold the pickle'

Smith had prior college DC experience at Rutgers though (where his unit put up solid numbers)... not sure if this guys called defenses before or not.

Or maybe he wanted extra mayo on his burger.

No idea how you go out in public ever again after being found like that.

How does he fit the "resume not the name" rumor?

Him and Orgeron together would make for some interesting times I bet. They could assign whatever coach they took from the staff and put with administration to just keep tabs on them full time.

He was the DC at Richmond (FCS). If he is hired, then Haley would likely either be out or coach linebackers.
Regardless of the eventual hire, this entire process partially validates the "Miles clause." With every candidate mentioned, we analyze the position they can coach because the defensive position coaches' salaries are not contingent upon the employment of the DC. Furthermore, prominent DC candidates would seemingly want to bring in their own coordinators, but are unable to do so because of the guaranteed contracts on the books---potentially reducing our chances to hire these candidates. The same process would unfold, with even more at risk, if we guaranteed coordinator salaries in the event of a head coaching change. Hence, the real problem in the current situation might not be the "Miles clause" applying to coordinators, but rather the lack of a"Chavis Clause" applying to defensive position coaches.

He was fired by ole miss under Bebe for passing out drunk in a Subway. He also has a dwi aside from the two fast food incidents. Nobody is hiring this goon as a DC.

Max, what if Miles had a 'drink off' between Bebe and Cullen for the DL position?
It would be like the Indiana Jones shot competition scene.
