I think the problem w Shoop would be more of a Haley/Orgeron one than Corey.

The more I think about it, the more of a clusterfrick it is.

Stoops being out and Steele losing ground are the two best things that have happened in this so called search.

The things it seems most of us don't care for are Haley now being a strong candidate for DC and the fact that CP is no longer an option.

As was said earlier, it's tough to believe LSU's status is such that the school can't land two unemployed coaches, Orgeron and Pendergast.

If Brick is in play, it makes sense that O is out. No way he works for Brick Haley.

That's exactly what we are as a program.

I think it's fair to assume that Miles no longer has an open LSU checkbook.

He is being treated like a lame duck from the administration, and personally, I don't blame them. Letting Arkansas give him an extension was unfortunate though.

It is my opinion that to avoid underwhelming with this hire from both a schematical and recruiting standpoint, Miles may need a show of good faith and actually give up some of his own money.

In this scenario, I can't see O settling for anything but DC.

How'd we go from CP being the the favorite to being out of the running entirely? Odd.

And promoting from within doesn't quite seem the right way to go for the friggin' defensive coordinator. Not now.

I don't know much about whoever most of these people are. But we are in a very important juncture. The 2014 recruiting class had too many studs for us to squander the talent by having a pitiful defense spoil everything.

Connecting a few dots, The holdup could come down to money. Remember that Brick already signed his extension, Therefore we would owe him a buyout if we had to fire him to make room for O. I'm sure we would've been stretching Alleva's budget to get CP and O, as it was. Add in an extra $100k or more and things get even tighter.

This may be the reason we are hearing so much about Brick now. He maybe using his situation as leverage.

If the hire of a new DC ends as a money saving flop, then WOW what long season next year will be.

Is it possible than Les is wanting nothing more than a 'yes' man?
