Still, I think Chavis is showing a ton of pride in this thing along with some ungratefulness to LSU who has stepped up pay over the last 6 seasons. When he left Tennessee after 17 seasons, he was making 350k.

I am done with him

I'm actually feeling the same way. Loyalty is a 2-way street.

It is a dead period through Jan 3rd

He will be a Jizz Jar coach before that.

I remember 1 time for sure, probably 2 times where Miles had a "little battle" with the Admin for assistant raises, with Chief being the one singled out.

Does that explain playing Nickel against 2 TE sets for a team that only passes a little more than we do? The players aren't the only ones to blame for what happened yesterday.

Chavis def takes the blame, but our D played soft.

Big running QBs destroyed us all year. Our DEs just don't look disciplined out there. Is it systemic or a matter of personnel?

Agreed. Diving lazily for tackles is not something Chief coached. I guarantee. The scheme may have sucked, but tackling is just effort, and it wasn't there.

Remember Saban's last game as LSU coach? A coach with one foot out the door definitely hurts effort.

A little of both. OCs seem to have known all year that a competent running QB (not a Bo Wallace) could expose our MLBs and smallish DTs.

Since Miles is an expert at nothing he needs to contribute some of his salary to getting these expensive coordinators. I know it won't happen

At first I was upset about Chavis, but the more I thought about the Tennessee fans warning us about 3rd and Chavis years ago, I realized that Chavis is as hard headed as Les.

Change isn't always bad. It can be good too. Depends on if you have faith in Les and the AD to pick a replacement. If BDP is promoted though, we're done.

I get this point, but our 'best in the SEC' DB's looked completely lost and unprepared out there. Receivers were WIDE open all day, especially on 3rd down. Unacceptable.

This all wreeks of an agent stirring shite, and Chavis speaking seems to want no part of it.

I was told that Chief's son is a lawyer and is representing him. Any truth to this?

Chavis does not recruit like some other staff members. I thought this was well known. His name alone brings in players.

It's bit us in the arse before and has been my only problem with Chavis in the past.

He's actively recruited Udo Amadi and Kyle Phillips from Tennessee.

And it's a recruiting dead period until Jan. 14.

I am done with him because he allowed this to surface as it did on Bowl Game Day!

Maybe Cam Cameron, but everyone else can go.

Remember every time an NFL analyst wonders why LSU didn't win the NCG with Mett, Landry, Hill and OBJr? Well, it was LSU's defense, plain and simple. Why did we lose to Alabama this year and in 2012? The defense. Chavis can recruit, which is why he hangs on to his job. He hasn't done a good job of coaching the last 2 seasons.

So, Miles goes to bat for Chavis...gets him basically the top coordinator deal for the last few years, and this is how Chavis repays him?

I have been trying to figure out who his agent is (and what connections he may have); I've got nada.

Yep.

Turns out Chavis is not quite the man we thought 4 or 5 years ago.

It's pretty pathetic, really.

If you really really want a 4 year deal, and your employer offers you a 3 year one... is it not possible to find a way to take that and then work on the 4th year during the ensuing three years?

Chavis is throwing his players under a bus for some pretty petty bullshite.
