They started slow tonight, but are playing strong. I think they are ready.

Yep last year we stumbled into conference play with the loss to Rhode Island and that carried over starting 1-2 in the conference. Gotta feel good about where we are at right now.

Just don't hit a landmine against Savannah State and we'll be fine.

I saw some great offensive sets in the second half with lots of patients.

There was one around the 8 minute mark that was outstanding and used up the shot clock

Running =\ street ball. It is a smart game plan even with more turnovers. You should read up on what George Karl has to say about the subject

lsu played a very well team game. there was a lot of good passing.
the defense just needs to improve.

#13 on usm was there only legitamite player though. the rest of their team was not very good.

They ready. Look like one of top 3 teams in SEC.

Thank you for understanding basketball. Once Martin threw the no look pass in the middle of the lame I quite watching. No way we play like that against a sec team we will get our arse whooped.

Or Chris Jackson and Randy Livingston. This teams front court is legit.

They have improved drastically. Not as many sloppy passes and turnovers. Not launching up wild shots all the time. Taking time to make the extra pass and getting the ball inside and then working it outside to the open man. They're ready, but need to work on getting out to a faster start. Can't miss first seven straight shots against Kentucky and others.

I want to say with about five minutes left in the game we had like 8 turnovers.

We'll find out in a little more than a week. However they looked pretty good in the half-court on offense. Things won't be nearly that easy in SEC play and they'll have to get somebody besides Hornsby to hit a few outside. That said, they did what good teams are supposed to do against inferior opponents.

I agree Alt. We did share the ball well tonight, but USM was a relatively small team. Those passing lanes won't be as wide in SEC play. While the teams still aren't all that great, there are still some very athletic teams that can defend.

Need Gray to start hitting a little more consistently from outside. I see good potential in that area from Patterson, but he tends to follow string music with a brick, so need a little more consistency from him there.

They are much improved on offense and have been good at being unselfish. Our outside shooting is still not the greatest.

What really concerns me is the defense. They are improved there also but the caliber of opponents hasn't really tested that.

Even in the last game though there were some moments when we allowed dribble penetration with no one helping. I think they depend on Mickey to block shots so much that sometimes they just let their guy go and head downcourt to try and get an easy one.

Old folks can't handle watching today's game. it's too fast for them, so they throw up phrases that they've heard like "street ball".

Look man, there's a reason why college teams are winning with fresh-young, fast talent.

No matter what you think, Coach Knight wouldn't make it with the pace of today's talent.
