9-7 is a winning record. Fans are happy because they see improvement, but he didn't make the mistake of improving too fast and setting the bar too high. Three years from now nobody will be able to use this to season to say he can't win in the playoffs. It will just be known as the rebuilding year.

The Texans did play one of the easiest schedules in the league, and they also play in a division where two of their division members are picking in the top 3.

But he didn't do anything to royally screw up and he got nothing out of Clowney and barely anything from the QB position.

Very solid job. Texans beat all of the teams they should have and played well defensively all season.

I would pass on Cutler though.

He's never going to take a team to the next level. He's trying to be Favre without the skill level.

It doesn't matter because everyone expects him to find a QB. If that QB fails, he fails.

If the Texans don't hit on a QB soon, they're about to be mired in mediocrity hell. I think BOB is a very good coach, but the front office needs to start making good moves.

I wonder if they build one more year and wait for Hackenberg.

Hackenberg regressed big time this year, but maybe he just really needs O'Brien.

He had ONE scholarship offensive lineman starting for him in the majority if the season.

Literally, ONE.

i think he did set it too high. its basically playoffs next year or we regressed. i think 7-9 would have been the perfect start, but i am glad to see them really play well down the stretch, despite case keenum being shitty

So you don't think having one scholarship offensive lineman and having to learn a new system caused any issues at all?

Have you even watched him play at all to evaluate him? He has a cannon.

He could be the next Jay Cutler sure, but even that's not that bad. And his ceiling is much higher with his arm by itself, let alone his touch and size.
