A Walk In The Woods- Bill Bryson
About 2 guys, one more out of shape and grumpy (some believe he was a fictitious character in the book) travelling through the Appalachian Trail. Funny quick read and packed with information about the flora and fauna of the AT

Try something WW2 strategy related especially against the nazis. Not gonna tell what to read but there are a ton of really good reads. Plus it just kicks arse reading about war while hunting.

Not really an "outdoor" book, but it is gun related and a great read. My vote goes to "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter. The 2007 movie, "Shooter", starring Mark Wahlberg, was based on this book. As almost always happens, the book was better than the movie. If you enjoy POI, you'll want to read the entire series, including "Time to Hunt." TTH is a "hunting" book, but it deals entirely w/ hunting "2 legged" animals.....

Poachers by Tom Franklin
Best modern collection of short stories I've read in quite some time
Ten Point: Deer Camp in the Mississippi Delta is another good choice... I got it for my dad last xmas and I bought it for my FIL this xmas... Once you open this book it is damn near impossible to put down.

Game wars, very good book about a game warden and how he caught poachers back the early 60's in Louisiana.

That sounds pretty interesting.
I'm not really into reading about war. I'm not saying the books aren't good, just not my cup of tea.

Anybody that has not read "Unbroken" should. It is not an outdoors story but it is a remarkable story every man should read.
I can't believe Joline's movie will do it justice but I look forward to seeing it this weekend.

I just finished unbroken and it was amazing.
I requested a book board on the help board if anyone would like to sign the petition.
