re: Apparently Racism Abounds at LSU Law - HuffPost Article Penned by Student

I applied only to LSU and Southern. 2.84 GPA and a 155 LSAT. Obviously got wait-listed at LSU so I went to Southern. I viewed my time at SULC as atoning for my laziness in undergrad, but I was thankful Southern gave me the opportunity to go to law school.
Long story short, I ended up getting out and had some guys I knew from Lafayette approach me about coming to work for them. Started there, failed the Bar, they stuck with me, passed it, and I have little to no student loan debt.
I know my case is an anomaly, but looking back, I couldn't be happier about getting waitlisted at LSU and going to Southern.

This dude has another poston Huffpost about being gay in Louisiana. He signs off by saying:
Bro there is no way you got into a T-14 and went to LSU
Guy obviously thinks he's too good for LSU, yet still felt the need to go there?
When i applied the director of admissions was black, i didn't see Mr. Alagood mention that anywhere...

On second thought, maybe I should have gone to law school at the University of Michigan after all.

I never shared the admiration for Johnson.

Come on, Bockrath continues to be my role model.
I graduated from LSU Law in 1985. I liked Bockrath. He did not care about class attendance, which was a plus for me. I missed a month at one point and he did not care. I partied with him a couple of times too.
Litvinoff was my favorite professor.

Never took Baier either.
Funny story, last week in law school I'm walking around the floor where Baier's office is. We pass each other and he asks if I ever took his class, because he does't recognize me. When I tell him no, he takes me into his office and sits down with me for 2 hours. Sure, all he did was talk about himself and that play he performed in at some D.C. theater. But when we left, I remember thinking he was pretty cool and definitely a smart SOB.
Before I left he even gave me a handbill from the play and signed it
I think it's still in my glovebox...
edit: Oh yea, last night I had my obligatory dream that I was signed up for some class at the law school and realized I hadn't been going. Get it every few months or so.

To this day I have those dreams, but I don't realize it until exam day.

lsu's attrition rate is well below national averages
Must've that kinder gentler law school that Weiss promoted. Grads from the old days can't figure it out. Are the current grads as tough as the old one, not going thru boot camp? Not sure.

Father Chief Justice, Baier's magnum opus. As for the HuffPost Article, I think it's best to tread lightly. Many students are not exactly thrilled about the image it conveys. A more nuanced approach to addressing perceived institutional issues would be greatly preferable to a HuffPo editorial.

Lsu's attrition rate is well below the national average, and they are actually revamping the grading policy to get their attrition rate in line with other law schools.
I think my class started off with 227 and ended up with 177.
