I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food and I have never had rainbow trout otherwise but the pesto crusted rainbow trout at Sea Rotisserie Grill is delicious. Their rare cooked tuna steak is also excellent.

I caught some once in the White River, and just knew they would be awesome based on how beautiful they were. I was not impressed at all. I'd probably eat them if I lived somewhere where they were prevalent, but they aren't anything special. Better than eating pogies, not as good as eating choupique.

Ever hear of the rainbow trout population being decimated by a chef throwing him on a hot skillet, and blackening him? Didn't think so. Know way? He's not fit for an unretarded palet.

No, but salmon were once in trouble around here. They've had to work hard to bring back decent numbers.

And also....

Yeah, no shite. I'm going to post a pic of what the area looks like once the salmon are moving up the Columbia.

Top left is the mouth of the Cowlitz river. One of the best salmon rivers in the state of WA. There will be hog lines like that for a couple of miles down the WA side of the Columbia river. Same thing occurs several miles up at the mouth of the Kalama, and again at the Lewis, all WA rivers. Same thing occurs further up the Columbia to the OR rivers upstream.

Funny, a lot of people spend upwards up 40k for an Aluminum boat and more on fishing gear all for a glorified trout???

Then there are the combat lines you can deal with on certain rivers once they've moved into the tributaries, unless you own a drift boat which most don't.

People deal with assholes at the docks and out on the rivers. Use vacation time to spend days on end fishing. Dealing with lower amounts of days to fish and the Gill netters and other Fish and Game regulations.

It isn't for a bullshite fish.

Trust this, grill them In direct, make slits in the skin with lime chili powder butter on the skin. These fish can take some time to get done, awesome ,

That there was funny.

I hate Salmon and Rainbow Trout....
But I think it's unfair to speak for other peoples taste buds.

My wife and son love smoked salmon. I can't stand that shite. But I will buy it for them.

I ended up filleting them and then pan frying them in butter, olive oil, garlic, and white wine with some Tony's. They didn't taste like dog food but sacalait or even bass I much better imo.

I saw a guy cook them on TV. Apparently if you filet them you're doing it wrong. You should cook them whole or steak them with the skin on. The bones will come out in one shot once it's done cooking.

See, here's the thing. Yall have genetically retarded tastebuds up north. Over time, they start telling your brain that things like rainbow trout, bratwurst, and other yankeefied victuals are fit for human consumption. Throw salmon - nothing more than a bigger, redder meated rainbow in that same mix.

holy shite.

Don't get that farmed Atlantic salmon. Get wild, Pacific salmon. It makes a hell of a lot of difference.

I can only eat Salmon sushi/sashimi. Love it.

Any cooked Salmon I have ever had made me want to puke, and I eat absolutely everything.

A good, firm, bright silver or sockeye is awesome. Farmed or ready to spawn salmon of any kind isn't very good.
