The biggest issue for Chicago is their atrocious offensive line play, which has been poor to terrible for the entirety of Cutler's stay in Chicago, making his job far more difficult than it should be. Until the front office finally decides to address the glaring weakness on this team, there's not a ton that Cutler can do about it. With that being said, his attitude has not done himself, or his teammates any favors. His apathy at the hopelessness of his situation has really poisoned the well for the entire team. Chicago is a very bad team right now, but with the right personnel adjustments, they have the talent for a quick turnaround.

This.
Drew Brees has hurt the Saints at times this year, but nobody on the Saints team doubts his commitment. There is no doubt that he is the leader of that team, and that he will do whatever it takes to correct the mistakes. I just don't see how Cutler's teammates can respond well to his demeanor. Judging by his career record, I'd say they don't.

He must care.
He walks up to the line sees the pressure package and starts cursing because he knows his sorry arse online can't block. That tells me he cares, but it also tells me he is defeated.

You saw that?
Was in the gun last night, sees the blitz, walks up a yells "dammit", changes play, gets ball off, and gets leveled.

I have never understood the love for Jay Cutler he is entirely overrated and doesn't seem to give a frick about improving the team.

I wonder how much any of us would care with that HS Oline in front of us? Dude is a arse, but he has also been beat up more than George Foreman since he got to Chicago.

like Akiem Hicks' sack should never ever happen
Even if Cutler is standing behind Northwestern's offensive line... that should never happen

quote:Cutler has 2 winning seasons in 8 years. He has no one to blame but himself. He seems aloof during the games and I am sure he is the same way in the locker room. He never had a winning season at Vandy. The guy is talented, but his is not a winner. At some point, if you have all that talent, you need to become a difference maker.......Cutler is not that guy. Talent yes, will to win....no.
Chicago is a dumpster fire by any definition, and Cutty hasn't played nearly as well as his contract dictates, but c'mon man! He was sacked 7 times, their D was awful, and forte couldn't buy a hole behind that line. The offensive coordinator talked shite about Cutty to a reporter this week and had to apologize to the team.

There is plenty of blame to go to Cutler. But he has become a scapegoat for lazy sports 'analysts.'
He could have played better (too many low and/or wide passes) but the way they acted like he is root cause of everything wrong with the Bears was pretty damn pathetic.

Cutler is tGOAT. It's not his fault the whole team sucks and the coaches refuse to run the ball with the best player on the team. He's not the only one who is disinterested in the rest of the season on that team.

Why do MSB'ers flock to Jay's defense so much? He's not an elite quarterback.
His attitude, persona, and on-field performance is a perfect storm for media criticism, and he plays for a high-profile team.
If you can't figure out why ESPN talks about him...

He's not an elite qb, and should not be paid as one. But he is, for whatever reason...
I simply did not understand why the ESPN guys last night went on a six minute bashing session on the guy when clearly he isn't the only problem in Chicago.

To me he's basically what Romo is. Can show flashes of greatness but overall just can't get it done with what's around him. It wasn't until Romo got an O-line full of first round picks and a HB who's on pace for 2k yards was he able to finally look good consistently
