Button up and a blazer. Jeans, khakis, or slacks acceptable.

Only if you button it up to the top like some dweeb.
Let some chest out, FaF
I also buy most of my clothes from thrift shops or ebay, so the OT would have crucified anyway

This is the Christmas party uniform unless it's themed or formal. Will not be wrong, will not stand out (FYI in case you wanted to).

I'd wear a sport coat, nice jeans or slacks and nice shirt. Generally a button up tucked in or out depending on function and crowd.
ETA-typical is means nice shirt and slacks. No jeans. No tennis shoes. However, upscale jeans, especially darker and pressed, may be appropriate at times.

I have a christmas party that says "dressy casual" on the invitation...anyone have any idea what the hell that means? Sounds like a contradiction in terms to me...
I feel the same way. I had a party in Lakeview to go to a few weeks back and it said that. I wore a button up and slacks with a nice sweater. Some people were in suits others in polos.

Is that a coat or a jacket? It isn't cold enough for a coat.
Still pimpin though.

You're my boy but I can't have your back here. I've never been able to make myself wear SSBDs... Vests either. I've actually bought some nice sweater vests and never put wore them outside of trying them on.

No sweater vest, I will wear a fleece or down vest though.
SSBDs are my summer shirts mane. Don't even barely wear a polo anymore. I won't wear them without shorts though.
