Best Interior Paint -- Cost/Benefit

Looking at painting some interior rooms, just the sheet rock walls, not the trim. The walls are already painted, but the paint is old and chipped.
I'll spend $$$ for real benefit. Cost is really no object. But what's the difference between Home Depot brand and the high end paints?
Related--Are there particular features ("stain resistant") worth paying for?
TIA.

Most of the advantages of the old oil based paints for durability, clean-ability, stain resistance have been greatly done away with. Go with a mid to upper end latex paint, use quality brushes and rollers, start high and work down, you will be fine.

I had a friend that closed their family paint store after like 50 years, so I asked him who makes the best paint. He stated that by far Sherwin Williams makes the best and longest lasting paint. He told me that it was very hard to compete with them when the customer actually did their homework.

If you sign up at Sherwin Williams they will email you coupons for 20-35% off...

I always use Sherwin Williams.
Depends on the situation. If you're going to change colors every few years, just use contractor paint from Sherwin Williams. It will last three years if you're not beating the shite out of it. Different story of you have kids, because they beat the shite out of everything.
If you want something truly washable, and for a long period, go with their Emerald line of acrylic latex. Roll it on, cut in with an angle brush -- it has self-leveling components and it is very durable.

You really pay for what you get in paint. Sherwin Williams paint is a lot more, but it goes on better and lasts longer. If you do get the Depot stuff, get the more expensive Behr Paint.

Your Friend lied! Sherwin Williams is over priced, hard to apply, and never last as long as stated. Exterior is even worst than the interior.

What's the verdict on Farrel-Calhoun? I ask because I'm building a house and that's what the painter quoted prices from. Paints still a ways off and I'm wanting to see if I need to pay more for Sherwin-Williams.

HD Baer paint has one called "eggshell" It is very good stuff. I've used on the interior of three homes and it is indestructible. It is very good but, expensive.

Coronado Tough Walls Flat
As a GC who routinely spent 6 figures with Sherwin Williams I can honestly say this is better.
Benn using it for the last 10 years.

Many thanks. Better for durability, look, or ease of application, if you don't mind my asking?
Thanks for the input.

Most painters I have talked to swear by Benjamin Moore as the best. Sherwin Williams sucks to touch up after a little time. If the room is small you can use anything you want. Bigger rooms with lots of light need better paint.

Behr from Home Depot. Do NOT buy Olympic brand paints.

Paint doesnt matter as much as what youb put it on with.
Get some nice Wooster or Purdy brushes and good quality rollers and take care of them. They will last years and lay paint down real nice.

Ppg pure performance.
Have put that into the last two places I've painted. Works awesome. Lays down flawless.

PPG makes really nice stuff.
They have sales occasionally if you're willing to wait, otherwise try and find someone who has an account there that gets a decent discount.
They can seriously discount a lot of their pants.
