It's happened multiple times.

It doesn't happen often because most would be lateral moves.
No one is going from one Big 6 to another since they all have essentially the same tools to work with.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if there was a gentlemen's understanding amongst the schools. The SEC is thriving, but there are a ton of sacrifices made by some for the good of the whole.

Go look at the Big 12 the past 5 years, and see what happens when schools stop getting along. If Auburn had taken Franklin from Vandy a couple of years ago, or Florida had snatched Mullen from State a week ago, there could have been a lot of infighting. Instead, the conference remains united against the rest of the NCAA.
