I'm sticking to my draft day rant. I HOPE Kenny gets it together but, as I said then , we should have drafted Reid. In the end Reid's work ethic will win out. I'm not judging the career but I am judging two years. The "saints experts" will want to talk career because that's the only defense as it was on draft day. So we stick with potential so that camp can win the argument. All I know is one is looking good and the other has sucked bad and is not starting

The dude had a broken ankle for christ sake.
The defense as a whole has been terrible this season. Name one player that has stood out on defense? It points to coaching and scheme. Reid came into the league with arguably the best front 7 in the NFL. Of course it is a lot easier to play safety when your front 7 is dominant. You are acting like Reid is already in Canton and Vaccaro is a bust. Vaccaro came into the league and was asked to play 4 different positions (SS, FS, Slot CB, OLB) and he balled out. There is no disputing that. We didn't need a one dimensional safety coming out of the draft. We needed a Vaccaro. He hasn't played up to his potential and it's obvious but saying drafting Reid over him would mean Reid would be doing great over here is ignorant and stupid.

What we need over here is people that can tackle. You're still living in the dream that we're good. Let's try making some tackles then worry about plating 4 positions. Reid is the better saftey so far, do you disagree? BTW Jimmy's not a WR anymore than Vaccaro is on OLB or CB

My freaking point is simple. My team got embarrassed and our starting saftey is being benched for shitty play and partying too much. I'm saying Reid has NFL work ethic and Vaccaro not so much to this point.

Wtf?... No. No one said that. I said there is a coaching and scheme issue. There is also something else going on in the locker room. It's great Vaccaro is benched. He isn't playing up to his potential whether it's him or a scheme/coaching issue. You are comparing apples to oranges kid when you talk Reid and Vaccaro.
For a little fact check, while playing 4 positions last season Vaccaro only missed three tackles total last season! That is the problem here. He was great last year and arguably better (much more versatile) than the Reid dick you're riding. No one is saying we are good. But its irrational for people to come in and say "Told you we should have drafted Eric Reid.....blah blah blah, lsu". No one was saying we should have drafted Reid last year when Kenny almost won DROY. No one here gives a shite about Eric Reid. He plays for the 49ers. He doesn't have to tackle. He got torched by the Raiders.

And there it is. You can't get past LSU. it's ok in the end I'll be right and you'll still say blah blah LSU. just go check some neutral sources on who's the better saftey.

Wow.... you're seriously an idiot . You have nothing to say to back up anything. You bring up Reid but I'm the one saying blah blah LSU......right. You have zero clue. You bring up Reid bc of LSU that's it.
You don't bring up anyone else so it shows your ignorance. How about Duke Williams? I mean we could have drafted him in a much later round and he is playing better than Vaccaro. D.J. Swearinger? He is playing great for the Texans and we could have drafted him later also. Matt Elam? Johnathan Cyprien? I bet if you "go check neutral sites" they are all having a better year than Vaccaro.
But no, you only bring up Reid, and I have stated why you can't compare them to each other. Reid has nothing to do with the Saints. You would have never brought him up if he didn't go to lsu or if Kenney would be playing at he same level he played last year. Vaccaro has the talent to be an all-pro, he showed that last year. He hasn't showed up lately. That's what this is about. Not Eric Reid

We draft so well.

The lesson here is, when draft picks are within a round or two at the same position err on the sided of SEC players.

For example,

We should have taken Reid over KV.

We should have taken Landry over Cooks.

I understand this board prolly has LSU morons daily that want us to draft LSU players. But the non LSU fans have gone absolutely overboard, to the point where we cant even mention an LSU player. You would think we would be the most overrated team, not the ones with the 3rd most NFL players

Not it at all. I was all for drafting Landry last year. I knew he would be a stud. OBJ would have been nice but there was no way to get him. I really like Collins in this years draft. I feel he can play T, G, and C. He is that talented and athletic. It's when people bring up players on other nfl teams bc they went to lsu. joblo has no idea. I only missed 1 lsu home game this past season. I am a bigger saints fan though. The point is no one was saying we should have drafted anyone else beside Vaccaro at the end of last year. He was a stud. Now when there are a 100 problems with this team its "Oh look I knew we should have drafted Eric Reid". No you didn't and you weren't saying it last year at this time when Vaccaro almost won DROY

Eric Reid isn't even having that good of a year. I think the LSU homers need to pump the brakes before they start screaming I told you so. Can we at least wait to see if Reid is even worth a shite first? If the draft happened today, I still take KV at this point.

Also, Cooks > Landry. Jesus. I can't believe that needs to be said either.

I've always thought Payton was an ego maniac but this player call out only proves it to me. I hope you can man up Payton and take your fair share of the blame. You definitely deserve it. And for SP's his sake I hope he's calling out the right people. Otherwise this completely backfires and those players he's calling out are laying down until he gets canned.

I doubt there's any player outside of Brees that could get Payton fired.

I think Payton has been really clear that this is on everyone, himself included, and that no one is above reproach. I don't think this proves he's an ego maniac, I think it proves he's willing to do dirty work to make his team right again. Biting the bullet and having difficult conversations instead of ignoring them has a lot to do with success.

Sorry but it should be common knowledge at this point that Reid has a top notch work ethic.

KV supposedly has a top notch work ethic. First one in, first one out on defense last year, double workouts, etc

At least know what you're talking about

Yes, that player awkwardly falling into his ankle vs Carolina last year is an indictment on KV.

Disagree with your opinion about SP being an ego maniac, but I do agree that he better get this right. Calling a player out and reprimanding them can have a very negative affect if it's reactionary and not measured.
