What's the best neighborhoods for hotels in these cities? Not looking for the Times Square experience, but would like a centrally located place close to things and the subway

Get a Chase Hyatt card.
Have your wife get one too.
Use the 4 free nights at the Park Hyatt Vendome.
You're welcome.

I like the Langham in London and the Lutetia in Paris. If you use the subway in each city, these are both good locations. The Langham is a few blocks from the tube and great shopping, etc. The Lutecia is in the 6th arrondisment, near a metro station, and near the Bon Marche, which is an awesome place to pick up wine, cheese, charcuterie, etc. It's also away from most of the tourist stuff.

Overrated. Looking to get rid of my place in Paris because I never go. It gets old after a couple of visits

Honeymooned at the St James Court Hotel, Buckingham Gate. Super nice, but a little pricey. Quiet though. Couple of blocks from Buckingham Palace, Scotland Yard, and Westminster Abbey. We split between London and Paris. Took the Channel train ,which is cheaper than flying. Stayed at the Marriott Champs-Elysees, which was outstanding, and dead center Paris.

Knotting Hill, Camden and Westminster are all really cool places of London. It's really easy to travel the city via Tube.

I stayed at Holiday Inn in west London (near Stamford Bridge). Next to a Tube station. Very convenient.
Have stayed there as well and is fit for purpose, after all you should only need a bed and shower. Holiday inn bought a lot of the overflow parking at tube stops in London and put up hotels. Any one will do as it is just a train ride to where you want to go. I have stayed in about a 6 of these and they are almost identical. How long are you staying in London? Have you ever been there before? What do you want to see/do while there? Answer these and you will get a better idea.

You could stay at the Windsor in Buckingdom. We also like the Staffordshire in Wentwood
Or for Paris, the Place Du Lac near the Maison Dupuy is good.
