Anyone have this? I'm about to buy a new Samsung TV that has the app and if the quality of prime is good, I'm probably gonna eliminate a lot out of my Dish package. The reviews on Amazon are pretty good but the only reviews that matter are on TD.com.

I'm watching The Wire right now on prime. Quality is top notch. It all depends on your internet connection.

It's on par with Netflix. What seals the deal is Amazon Prime comes with free 2-day shipping, a free music streaming service similar to Spotify (though not caught up yet), Amazon instant video, and free cloud storage for photos. All for $99 a year which is cheaper than a Netflix subscription. One of the best deals out there

If you have a .edu email address it is $49

The interface sucks but the content is right up there with Netflix.
They have too many buy season / buy episode buttons all over the place.
I use 3 monitors and sometimes I just click without looking to move to another monitor. This has resulted in numerous 1 click purchases from Amazon.
They may have fixed it, but for a LONG time you could disable 1 click on the rest of the site but not on prime video.
They still need to work on the interface but it is better than it used to be.

I have Netflix and Amazon, both are about equal. Amazon does have some older HBO shows/series.

Am I missing something with Amazon Prime? Outside of the HBO offerings, it seriously lacks when compared to Netflix's content.
That may have something to do with the fact that AP's browsing function sucks monkey dick balls whereas Netflix is really easy to use.

Amazon Prime Instant Video
Anyone have this?
I have Prime (so I thing I have Prime Instant Video), but I've never really used it. I was not aware The Wire was available.

Yes the instant streaming is included with Prime. The lineup is ok and includes a good deal of the HBO lineup. Fewer original programming but it's expanding. Transparent is it's first to get critical acclaim.

I just get prime for all the free 2-day shipping. May have to look into Instant Video.

I also have both Amazon Prime and Netflix. I think the HBO lineup alone is worth it but they also have other shows that Netflix doesn't like 24, Vikings, The Americans, The Unit,...etc, etc. If you have a good internet connection they stream in 1080p.

I have AP and Netflix. I like them both. AP is not as easy to search but they have some good programming. When you add up all the benefits, Amazon Prime is definitely worth it to me.

When you role in shipping, video, music.... It's a no brainer to get prime

Thanks for the replies. I'm convinced to go the Prime route.

I wouldn't get it just for the video streaming as Netflix has better selection but do get it for the entire package. I am doing all my Christmas shopping on Amazon and I don't have to leave the house or pay a dime throughout the year for shipping. I ordered some stuff Saturday night and it is all being delivered today.
