Some of you may or may not know, but I had a son born earlier this year. Obviously this will be put up for the next decade or so until he's old enough to have it, but I thought it was a cool buy since it has his birth year on the blade. He doesn't even know what Christmas is this year anyway.
In the skinning knife thread a few weeks ago I mentioned how my grandfather swore by his old Schrade sharpfinger skinning knife.
As you can se it came with that and a 3 blade pocket knife.

Thought about getting my son - 18 months old - a lifetime license. Question? Is there anything that can be done if you move out of the state where you purchase it? We are currently in MS, from Louisiana and dont know how long we will live here. Don't want to piss money away.

Once it's purchased, it's always valid. Even if you move out of state I think.

I like it and it's a great idea!

It's only valid in the state of purchase correct? IF bought in MS and moved to Colorado, he would still need a CO license?

Well yeah...
But in that scenario, you could always leave Colorado and go back to Mississippi for a weekend hunting trip and not have to worry about a license.

Nice gift. I bought a $300 bottle of wine for my son's birth and put it away. I was going to open it with him on his eighteenth birthday. Soninlaw I bitch about all the time opened it last year 'cause I was out of beer. (And you guys thought i was mad about some .22 bullets)
Wish I would have bought him a knife set instead.

My mom did that with a bottle of wine also. We drank it the evening before high school graduation, or tried to at least.
At some point it got stored improperly and turned very bad.
