A few years back, I got 2 loge tickets on the 25 yard line in the "after market" for $10 each.

This is what happens when you have:

A. An extremely diluted bowl system matching up slightly above avg teams;
B. High ticket prices for a de-facto exhibition game which people have to pay on top of..
C. The travel costs of attending an out-of-state game around the New Year's Holiday

The costs simply outweigh the benefits. It used to be a big accomplishment to make it to a bowl game. Now, seemingly everyone makes it. 76 of 128 teams will be playing in bowls!!!

Poor attendance has been an increasing problem for the past several years. Now you're starting to see corporate sponsors drop out. Hopefully this will finally start to move us away from the antiquated bowl system.

I agree in part, but they only charge what people are willing to pay. Tickets sales dropping will eventually lead to cheaper prices.

The ticket office is not "dumb"....bowl tickets are pre-sold every year. You only get billed for the game LSU goes to dummy ! It used to be very important to show LSU would bring a big crowd to a given bowl game. Now, with the bowls requiring each participating school, to purchase x number of tickets AND the SEC openly "placing" teams, it's not that big of a deal.

Most bowls have contract where most of the tickets are sold before ever hitting the market

4 losses in conference makes us an SEC tier 2/3 team.

I understand being frustrated (I am), but why does it seem like you almost want this to happen?

I dont want it to happen.

What you are picking up on is Choctaw, Beefense, etc. constantly making it up that I want it to happen.

I'm not saying you want it to happen. But it almost seems like you do. Every one of your posts is something along the lines of "Yeah, you think this is bad wait til LESS loses another 4 next year" or "Another 3 or 4 losses next year!". I don't understand how you can be so miserable in regards to and have such a horrible outlook over a game. Especially when we actually have a ton of upside next year. Diff'rent strokes, I guess.

Probably because there are so many of "you" that refuse to admit that what Miles has done is in the past. The People that desire end of year relevancy are over defensive for being slammed over an opinion. Some of "you" keep defending his "greatest tenure" while the team underachieves every year outside of 2011 and that year has it's own asterisk.

Some people choose to wish for relevancy for the program during the holidays. Others seem to stick their head in the sand and talk about how good the past was.
LSU's competition is relevant during the holidays now....hence the crappy bowl ticket sales.

I'd love for you to find a post of mine saying I'm happy that we're irrelevant at the end of this year.

I'd also love for you to find something that indicates that I'm happy with the general direction of the program right now.

Please, while you're at it, find a post where I've said I accept mediocrity or some other parroted meme of the rant.

Les needs to right the ship and he needs to do so by showing a willingness and ability to adapt. He's earned the right to have a year or two to do so with what he "has done in the past".

My overarching point is that it's pathetic the way people seem to want to will us to defeat.

"Just wait til another 4 losses next year!"

"We'll never be relevant again with Less at the helm, just accept it!"

It's pathetic and makes many of "you" look like whiny little bitches. Why not cheer for your team and hope for the best and that we improve going forward? We have reason to be hopeful going into the bowl season and the offseason. We are fricking stacked with YOUNG talent. I'm sorry that's hard for you to accept. I'll choose to be optimistic.
