Evidently he likes the speculation or he would do as you have described. Go figure.

Miles needs to stop this BS that every damn time Michigan fires a coach (which averages about 3-4 years)it becomes LSU's problem when they toss his name around in the middle of recruiting season.

Only an LSU fan could blame Les for this

What is wrong with Miles saying something to the effect of:

Because of the rumors involving me coaching at the UofM I want to clear the air. Firstly, I have not been offered the position of head coach or any other job at the university. Secondly, I have no interest in any such jobs if offered. I hope this clarifies this issue for all concerned...

That is an absolutely absurd analogy. So you are comparing CFB coaches to garbage men. Wow.

That's a horrible analogy. You're saying the LSU job is like playing in garbage and getting shite all over you, while Michigan is like chilling in the AC all day checking out boobs? GTFO

I completely agree with you. Quite a few NFL & college coaches whose names have been brought up for other jobs have spoken out in some fashion that they aren't interested and did it well before the actual hire. And that's the key point here. Bc if CLM stays quiet throughout and uses all this for leverage it won't sit well this time. I know that's what they do but if UM eventually gets the hire who's been reported to be their first choice without any prior statements from CLM, he is going to look even worse to an already highly disillusioned fanbase. And he does owe us that. LSU made him a household name. Same could be said of the coach before him. However, if he's interested in another job he shouldn't say a word about it just like what he's been doing. That's much better than lying about it.

How does one know they have no interest in a job offer before receiving the offer?

That's something Nick might say, but I don't see Miles saying it.

I don't know how many times its been stated on this forum that football is a business. What business person turns down an offer without knowing what the offer contains?

No problem that it is a business. LSU needs to make Miles fish or cut bait. If his contract has a "Michigan" out clause that is all one need know and explains much of Mr. Miles's strange behavior about QBs. Don't know why LSU would tender such a contract, but so be it.

I am not sure I understand that comment. Explain please.

No sane administrator is going issue a "fish or cut bait" demand to such a highly successful HC as Miles. Job opening and offers happen every season all over college football. This is really not the big deal some are making it out to be.

He didn't start it and he's done nothing to contribute to this ridiculous frenzy. He's going about his business and staying out of this stupidity as he should.

It's certainly clear that reading comprehension isn't your strong point.

At no time in any of that did I make a comparison between the two professions. I took the scenario at hand and put it in relative terms to help the rantards understand a little better why he hasn't come out and said he's not interested in the job yet.

Is it really that difficult to grasp, should I have used a janitor for my analogy to that you'd better understand?

You people make me laugh. First of all, you have no idea what he's told "LSU" and it's not your business. Les owes our fans nothing, particularly after the way he's been treated by those so called fans this year. We have rude fans who have no idea how to express themselves in a reasonable fashion when they have opinions. They're just rabid hoodlums. If I'm Les right now, I'm laughing my arse off at the fans stressing out over this and speculating beyond belief. I wouldn't say a word. I'd let them all stew in their own juices and chuckle all the way. And, we all know what he thinks about media speculation. I hope he says nothing until the day MI hires the new coach, which won't be him.
