Not one GW alarmist has yet even attempted to address the following two questions.

1)What are the anticipated benefits of a warmer Earth?

2)When comparing the cost of trying to stop GW with the costs of merely adjusting to it as has been necessary for all of world history, how does that comparison come out?

Oh. And, a corollary. Assuming that the cost of dealing with it is greater than the cost of stopping it, how does that cost-benefit analysis look when one then looks at the answer to #1 above?

When people look at a thing that absolutely MUST have both positive and negative effects and ONLY address one side of that equation and refuse to even acknowledge the other exists, they should be summarily tuned out.

Exactly.

If there were no money in "saving the planet" from global warming this wouldn't be an issue.

It's all about the money and Wall Street is leading the charge.

Why is Antarctic sea ice at record levels despite global warming?

Reduced salinity from all the ice sheet melt.

This pattern of temperature change has been attributed to the increased strength of the circumpolar westerlies, largely in response to changes in stratospheric ozone2. This picture, however, is substantially incomplete owing to the sparseness and short duration of the observations. Here we show that significant warming extends well beyond the Antarctic Peninsula to cover most of West Antarctica, an area of warming much larger than previously reported. West Antarctic warming exceeds 0.1?°C per decade over the past 50 years, and is strongest in winter and spring. Although this is partly offset by autumn cooling in East Antarctica, the continent-wide average near-surface temperature trend is positive.

So, warming exceeds 0.1?°C per decade over the past 50 years melts the Amundsen Sea?

You probably don't even comprehend the contradiction you just made. The Antarctic ice sheet is growing, not decreasing.

As I post in most of these global stupidity threads, the earth is warming...due to a natural phenomen called the cycles of the sun, not anything man is doing. This is per my PhD toting astrophysicist professor....so yeah. I'll take her word over SpidermanFupa

incorrect. The net rate of loss is positive .

please ask her why the earth warmed dramatically in the 90s even though solar output has been going down since 87. Are you suggesting LESS light from the sun is making the earth WARMER ? That's a bit odd wouldn't you say?

Oh, is this the thread where we all agree on GW, but it's too costly to address?

Or the one where the climatologists and weathermen are all in on a big conspiracy?

Scientist, huh??

No link, just a pretty graph with no explanation where the data came from??

To quote you, GFY, Mr. Affirmative Action Professional Failure.

I provided a link in an earlier post in this thread to a recent article in The Guardian supporting my statement about the Antarctic ice sheet growing. The "REAL" scientists were quoted in that article that they don't understand why reality does not match their computer models.

In fact, as the article states, the Antarctic ice sheet this past winter was larger than it's ever been since we developed the ability to monitor it.

that isn't what the article states. Go back and read it again.

Why do you lie about things that can be so easily fact checked which prove you wrong?

As can be seen from the graph below, Solar Irradiance increased after 1985 until about 1992 then it declined until around 1997 and then it increased again. You're lying to claim it has declined ever since 1987. Nothing you post can be trusted.

Are you completely illiterate?? The first sentence in the link I gave says:
quote:

While Arctic sea ice continues to decline, Antarctic levels are confounding the world’s most trusted climate models with record highs for the third year running.

The second sentence says:
quote:

Antarctic ice floes extended further than ever recorded this southern winter

The fourth paragraph says:
quote:

The winter ice around the southern continent has been growing relatively constantly since records began in 1979. The past three winters have all produced record levels of ice.

You're not a scientist, you're a Global Warming High Priest.

LSURussian - does the article you linked to talk about the Antarctic ice sheet - or the Antarctic sea ice?

I was referring to the solar irradiance averaged over its 11 year cycle.

Are you attempting to say sea ice can expand to record levels while ice covering the land of Antarctica is melting away? Is that your diversionary strategy?
