What is the boards opinion of this place? I am going to be in Nola Saturday for supper and was thinking of taking in a movie before hand. The seats look comfortable and the idea of having a few drinks doesn't sound too bad either.

things may have changed since i worked in that area but, it seemed like they showed mostly indy and foreign movies.

They definitely show new releases now.

It is completely different. Millions of dollars in renovations.
Its pretty fancy, and almost all new releases, very few indy films, if any at all.

Smaller theaters, roomy comfortable seats, well behaved crowd. Drinks and food served.
The negative is the price. I believe it's $17 per ticket plus parking. They validate but you still end up paying like $2.

good to know. I used to eat lunch there and it always seemed like movies i had never heard of.

Yeah, it looks like all new releases. And I'm fine with paying the few extra bucks for a nicer theatre. I was looking at tickets and it seemed like they were only available during the middle of the week. Do they sell out that fast for the weekends?

I like it a lot. I took my lady friend there twice, we got the "love seats" and had a little drink or two and enjoyed Chef. It was a good time.

They do sell out on the weekend, but usually not until the weekend. Just check back on Thursday or something.

It's an awesome theater and the food and drinks are pretty good. The only downside is it gets annoying sometimes with the waiters constantly darting in and out of the room during the movie, but that's inevitable.

Only place I catch movies now. Granted I live about 6 blocks from it. Pretty pricey but well worth it in my opinion. For me and the gf, I spend about $80 total (2 tickets, bottle of wine, small plate).

Pros:
Generally quiet crowd, good drinks, decent food, comfortable seats.
Cons:
Menu has not changed since opening, smaller portions, small screens, sometimes the sound is off or you get bleed from another screen, waiters walk by too often.

This irks me a lot.
If someone goes their semi-regularly, that menu gets old fast. We really don't order anything but the popcorn any more.
They really need to update the menu once every other year, at least.

My wife and I went here just last week. We hit a morning matinee and paid $13 per ticket. Best movie theatre experience I've ever had...

Same here. My wife and I went last year while in Nola for Xmas. Wish we had something similar in Birmingham.

they no longer have the pear pizza or the Griswold drink. those were changes I didn't like.

They do some very minor changes here and there. I'm talking about a complete overhaul.

I got you. They haven't changed much and the hummus is not good at all.
But it is a great overall "special nite out" theater IMO.
