So we'll just chalk our shortcomings every year up to players leaving early for the NFL?

Kwon is undersized. Wouldn't make sense.

Thats actually why it makes sense.... hes not gonna grow that much from now to next year. And his stock is as high as it will be. Hes a mid round pick, but a guy that will outplay his draft status.

If Kwon does come back his draft stock wont get any higher than it is right now. Hes a very very good LB and will be a good player in the NFL. And hes 6'2 230lbs, its not like hes 5'11 215lbs. Hes not a big LB by any means, but its not like hes severly undersized. Hell, CJ Mosley was a 1st round pick last year and he was 6'2 234lbs at the combine.

And remember, this isnt the NFL of 20 years ago. Now LBers have to be able to move and play in space half the time. And Kwon can do that.

No Sammy he isn't, Mills is a better safety than he is a corner. I think both will play on Sunday

I love these threads.

A bunch of college kids, day laborers and insurance salesman turned NFL pro scouts.

It doesn't take a genius to predict who all will go pro if the trend from the past 2 years continues.

The way contracts are structured now it makes no sense to stay. We may get one or two to stay but be prepared for all draft eligible players to go, its the new norm.

I'm hoping the new grading system inspires more kids to return for college. But to my understanding if they get the same grade unless it's 1st or 2nd round. So that may make more of them think they could go in the 3rd round when they really may be more of a 7th rounder/fringer.

Nobody on this team has bright enough promise to early exit.

NFL implementing changes to address underclassmen issue

A friendly reminder. And this was initiated by the NFL due to the problem too many early exits was causing.

quote:

At the heart of the changes are staggering statistics stemming from the 2014 draft class -- of the record 107 who declared, 45 went undrafted. A majority of those 45 remain unsigned by NFL teams as undrafted free agents.

This says that roughly 55% of the early entrants will actually get a contract. It would seem to indicate that most NFL teams will still rely on mainly seniors to build their NFL rosters making early entry a bad bet versus staying in for 4 years.

quote:

Previously, there was no cap on the number of players who could apply for a draft grade from the board. The new limit is set at five per school, with schools allowed to ask for more, if the talent on hand warrants it.

It would be a terrible move for Dural to go to the NFL now. He is the softest WR in the SEC...merely tap him and he is off his route and out of the play. He would never get off the LOS in the NFL.

Great hands and speed though. He just needs to be more physical.

Does anyone think the record number of early entries over the last 2 years has anything to do with the way the 2011 season ended?

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but maybe we seeing a return to normalcy now that those guys are gone?

I'm just saying, if you had a machine that your family depended on for income to make your bills, you'd get it insured. Just promise me you'll think about it.

I really can't think of any others that it would make to sense to leave

That is the whole problem there have been more than a few that didn't make sense for them to leave early, but they did anyway. I hope it ends up just being 3, but I have this feeling it will be more.

Collins is a great backup, but he wouldn't be on the field this year if Robinson could keep his shite together.

I don't understand the love for Robinson on here. Robinson is average at best. Yeah, he shut down Mike Evans when Johnny couldn't throw a basic slant route but he was getting exposed all year before that. Collins > Robinson all day every day. Collins is the fastest dude on the field on most plays and is physical enough to play press and run support.

We are talking about a guy who got beat out by a true freshmen last year because he got burnt so often, and then barely saw the field.

When Collins and Mills run at the combine Mills with post a better time.

it is why Mills beat Collins out in 2012
Its why White beat out collins in 2013
