Somewhat amusing.
Childish, unproductive, and purely designed to make partisans cheer... but still, somewhat amusing.

Good lord, the GOP just shellacked the know nothing party. obama has done more to galvanize and advance the republican party than anyone in recent history.
Impeachment should never be an option for the gift that never stops giving.

Follow the money. Their only real concern is getting in office and holding it, not actually governing and passing laws.

all of this would be a non- issue if Congress would do their job and pass an immigration reform bill.
Such a cop-out.
Harry Reid wasn't going to allow any legislation that wasn't 100% in lockstep with what Obama wanted to even come to a vote, and you know it.
And while I understand that the left's idea of "compromise" is for the right to give Obama everything he wants without question, check with Webster's on the true definition.

NOTE: If current trends hold (according to a report I heard on XM radio POTUS channel last weekend), the GOP will have to win 65% of the white vote to win the presidency in 2016....
The GOP will never win another election again unless they begin to adopt the advice of democratic strategist, right?

Gotta love modern politics right?

Because that's what brought such great success 3 weeks ago, amirite?

b.) pro-immigration reform: you could possibly win general but there's no way you're winning the primary.
A comprehensive plan that secures the border first, implements a robust temporary worker program, with e-Verify and stiff penalties on employers, severe restriction on entitlements, EITC, education access, and pretty much a ban on the guest workers having family here, combined with an end to birthright citizenship for children born to illegals (or guest workers) is a winnable platform at either the primary or general election, IMHO.
We're a nation of legal immigrants, not invaders. If we simultaneously recognize the desire of the portion of this population to work, employers' need for their services, the fact they're being exploited now, and the unsustainability of unfettered, unlimited illegal immigration on our health care, education and entitlement system, a rational solution, even complicated, will resonate with voters in 2016.
Yes, I really believe this and I believe it will be the default position (or something along very similar lines) for most GOP candidates on immigration.

This includes if the Republican candidate can't make any gains in the AA and Hispanic vote.
As for the 65%, the mid-term election was pretty close to that.

That's bad news, because there are no potential Republican candidates as white as Romney or McCain.
Ironic that the Republicans will wind up losing because they aren't white enough. Hilarious, too.

Did Obama just troll the GOP?
South Park said it best, when Cartman was writing books about the school president.
quote:
Cartman: Did you like my book?
Butters: Oh you bet! I love all the stuff you said about how our school president never does anything, and how she's changing everything!
This board is basically just a bunch of Cartmans and Butters running around getting alternately mad and scared. And I love it so, so much.

a.) you'll have a hard time getting a majority of republicans to agree with that.
actually, you won't. what you will have a hard time doing is getting Obama to sign it.
b.) how do these illegals vote again?
Perhaps you have noticed the recent opposition to Voter ID laws by liberal groups.
c.) are you aware that deportations are at an all-time high under the Obama administration?
Are you aware that this is an outright falsehood that has been debunked countless times on this very site?

Yeah - the turnbacks are counted as deportations now - effectively, all the EO did was announce the policy over the past couple of years, anyway. He's only deporting (as that word was commonly used pre-Obama) "violent" criminals, by and large, and he's just formalizing that policy in writing, now.
I guess after he gives out all these "IDs" they will still oppose Voter ID, because, obviously, the legal "illegals" can't vote with that ID. Quite a conundrum...

This is how a bipartisan immigration-reform bill passed the Senate in 2013, only to die on the vine when Mr Boehner's House refused to take it up
1. It's well-known that this administration employs a very loose definition of "bipartisan". Having Senators like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe cast their ballot in favor of a bill does not make it "bipartisan" in any true sense, and you know it. These are examples of Republicans who may as well be caucusing with Democrats.
2. Not knowing the full text of the bill or its provisions, I refer back to my original post, and can only assume that if Mr. Reid allowed it to come to a vote, it was indeed in lockstep with what Obama wanted, and was thus nothing more than a political ploy.

Your cop out is a cop out. The senate sent a bill over to the house and they wouldn't even bring it to a vote because they were afraid of the political damage it would do.
So you're promoting a "do nothing" government - that is, you're safer doing nothing than something you can be held accountable for.
