Ok don't kill me! My 10 year old son wants a Xbox for christmas, I have no fricking idea what the difference is, never been a gamer! Is the one worth the 100 buck difference.

One is the new one. There's no point in getting a 360 now.

Probably not. Just go ahead and get the 360 and watch the excitement that follows. Props for being an awesome dad.

How long do you plan on keeping it? They're gonna make less and less new games for the 360 over the next few years. I'm guessing he's gonna want all the new ones, which will mostly be on XBone. If he follows gaming like I did when I was 10, he will know he's behind the times with his 360.

Does he have any console right now? Chances are he's already fricked a figs mom in her arse online by now. He'll know the difference. Get the one

He has a wii, but has completely out grown it, wants the call of duty that type of stuff.

Xbox 360 is almost older than him, so...

Great instead of being a a-hole answer the question

Buy your kid the One and stop acting like a moron. You came on here and asked if a 10 year old who clearly knows a shite ton more than you about gaming/electronics will notice you bought him a decade old console.
He'll know. Buy him the new one.

Get him the Xbox One. If he wanted to watch movies, you wouldn't buy him a VCR. Don't buy him a 360.

You're the one being an a-hole. Why don't you ask your son which one he wants?

Thanks thats what i needed, not you trying to make a withy state to make all your buddies laugh. So do all you guys agree with this?

Get him a original XBOX. I mean, look at how much Godfather 3 sucked.

Xbox One. Don't go half way and disappoint him.

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. If he has a friend that gets a One, he will wonder why his is different then want the Xbox One.
My advice, get him the Xbox One.

Absolutely, plus these systems will last for many years. So think of this as a long term investment. Some new games still come out on both systems, but this will end soon.
Eventually he will no longer be able to keep up with his friends and get upset. Then you will cave and have to spend the extra money on the second system.
Also, the new Xbox is not backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games (other than gamer tag info) so that means the old system will soon be useless as far as your kid is concerned.
Don't be cheap, buy an Xbox One.
