How many programs have been as successful at recruiting and progressing QBs as LSU over Miles' tenure? More than half of the 128 teams in FBS? Or is it closer to about 12-15?

LSU pays top 7 salary. Being in the 12-15 isn't too much to ask.

ONE four-star prospect, and Miles' landed him. Did he miss on his evaluation of Dak? Yes, but so did everyone else not named Dan Mullen.

How do we know Dan Mullen just doesn't have a better way to develop talent or even put them in a better position to succeed?

I think college is far more about system than it is individual talent.

Every year it appears Miles QBs underwhelm and cannot get the system.

You keep referring to Louisiana QBs; yeah, Louisiana doesn't produce them, but LSU is a national recruiting program. Considering its an elite program, I expect Miles' staff should have recruited and developed a QB in the last decade.

Rivers was the three star. Rettig,Jennings, and Harris were the four stars.

you can ruin a player by putting him in when he isn't ready and doesn't have the confidence of the other players.

This is just one of those things people say. I'm not arguing that we should start Harris. I think that Les Miles wants to win games, as he should, and so he's going to start whoever he thinks gives him the best chance of winning. He's probably right that that guy is Jennings. But that said, it wouldn't "ruin" Harris to start too soon.

For ONE position that Louisiana doesn't hardly produce any of?

LSU pays top 7 salary, and averages a top 7 signing class every year. You don't have to have a top 7 player at every position to justify a top 7 salary to the coaching staff.

There's actually only one school that has averaged better, and I'm not even going to say which it is.

Maybe he does. That's one coach out of 128. Let's add Spurrier, Meyer, Fisher, and maybe 8 others in there. How many of those coaches have been more successful overall than Miles?

Okay, they can evaluate QB talent better, but can they win as many games while competing in the SECW as Miles? Maybe, maybe not. It doesn't appear so at this point in time. Didn't Mullen lose to Saban? Hell, Miles can do that.

Here's the problem with the LSU fan base in general. That statement just has stupid oozing out of every conceivable orifice. I guess you were in a coma just LAST YEAR?

Why is every other college team in the United States that has a freshman starter doing great & not having our problem we have with 2 QB's? Oh, I forgot, they are not ready at LSU to handoff a football yet or determine whether a team will blitz or not on 3rd down and 8.

While that would have gone a long way to securing a brighter future for Miles at LSU, I'm sure your expectations aren't at the top of Miles' list of stuff to give a shite about.

I hear a lot about LSU's elite status nationally, but I have yet to actually see it pay dividends when it comes time to select a coach for the program. Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Georgia and occasionally a California or mid-west state are the go-to's for LSU recruiting. If the pickings are slim, the pickings are slim. Pulling QBs away from UT, UGA, UA, UF and any California school is tough. Especially when you are asking them to come play against the best defenses in college football.

How do you know he isn't ready?!?! We don't know! He hasn't been on the field. But what guys like you want to base his performance off of is a true freshman starting his 1st game at #5 Auburn! of course he's going to have some jitters! 2 weeks before that he led the team back into the game against MS. State, then he scores 7 total touchdowns the next week. But what people like you don't understand is that he's proven he has the arm, he is a lot quicker than AJ. So when our we going to get this guy ready? He can't gain any experience because our coaches won't put him in the game.

You're right... my expectations don't matter. He should worry about having an at least average QB, not blowing a game at the end, getting his offense over 150 yards and not looking clueless on the sideline. But, keep making excuses, douche.

This is about moving forward with Brandon. What, you want him to wait til next year to see SEC playing time and take his lumps next year? No, this year is a done deal. 2 games left to play, play the kid and he gets his experience that he needs for next year. If he doesn't start him, can kiss next years success goodbye, as well.

OK. A question for the staff. Why is he not ready? That is their job. There are a number true freshman playing QB who seem to have a modicum of success. More than Mr. Jennings. I do not blame the players for what is going on, I hold the coachers responsible because they are supposed to get ALL of the players ready to play. If he cannot, then why was he not redshirted?

Any guesses?
