Saban, the Alabama coach, is talking about Muschamp.

Chief coaches for LSU.

Right, because bama has done such a poor job of recruiting lately....

Muschamp was pretty overrated as a DC, once he was with a team where he actually was the DC.

His defenses at Florida were legit.

Saban's coat tails ran out the minute he hit Florida. He was a shitty DC at Texas giving up massive amounts of YDS/GM. He couldn't tie his own shoes unless Nick showed him how. He didn't carry over any knowledge that he should have picked up from his time with Nick.

You don't think schools may have caught on that Saban DCs don't make great head coaches?

It's a long shot to find a good head coach from anyone's tree.

He's not going to jettison Kirby Smart. Now if he knows Kirby might be moving on that's something different.

Muschamp is damaged goods right now. He needs someone to restore his reputation and very few can do that- Saban is one of the few-

Defense is not our major issue at LSU

Auburn may go after Muscamp I'm hearing here in Alabama. Saban doesn't want that to happen. I think Saban will hire him as Recruiting Coordinalor and Asst. Head coach

Hard to imagine A&M going after a former "coach in waiting" at UT. But I agree Sumlin needs the help.

Maybe Kirby has informed the big tall head coach in private, of his planned departure, to become the new head coach of the Florida Gators hmm?

I hope he goes to bama and not A&M

He doesn't improve bama, that's sabans defense.

He immediately improves A&M

We're obviously not firing the chief for him

This.

That makes no sense. Kirby Smart is a more than capable defensive coordinator. He may be one of the best in the business.

Despite the public brouhaha, Bo Pelini has been pretty successful at Nebraska. 66 and 26 overall, 3 Big 12 North titles, 1 Big 10 Legends title, and 4 and 3 in bowl games. He's not lighting the world on fire, but for a program that was in the fricking dumps with Bill Callahan before Pelini was promoted, he's done a pretty good job. And Nebraska just isn't what it used to be. It's not exactly easy to recruit talent there.
