The transition of DJ Welter to KB will look a lot like AJ to BH in hindsight.

I think a lot of people were hoping this transition would happen sooner but given the way the MLB position unfolded this season I have a ton of confidence that's exactly how the QB position will as well moving forward.
DJ knew the playbook but was less talented. When KB figured it out he took over and look at him now, the man is a force! The QB spot is even harder to learn but when he does I fully expect BH to be the guy. It just hasn't happened yet.
I hear a lot of people saying "BH should start now, we have nothing to lose" or "our best qb is on the sideline" or something to that effect which I think are really stupid notions. He'll start when he's ready and not a moment sooner. The coaches (Cam in particular) know exactly what they're doing, way better then anybody here, that's for sure.
Keep the faith Tiger Nation. The future is very bright, including the QB spot.

Everyone says this, yet the fact is over his 20 starts, LSU had the most pure busts schematically on defense since Miles has been here. Georgia last year scored at least two touchdowns on absolute busts. Dak Prescot scored this year on a 56 yard run up the middle where Welter was likely misaligned. There are plenty of other examples (watch the Florida game last year, particularly their final drive, the NMST game this year on their long touchdown up the middle, the Auburn game's first quarter and a half, etc.) What the coaches say aside, based solely on the play on the field for his 20 starts, it isn't really clear that he was an upgrade on the playbook side.

You will get a lot of negative responses because people here are fricking retarded and think they always know better than the coaching staff, but you're spot on.

I WATCHED BRANDON PLAY AGAINST MY SON ALL THROUGH HS, HE HAS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE ARM STRENGH I HAVE EVER SEEN IN COLLEGE (INCLUDING METT) WHEN HE GETS THE SYSTEM DOWN THEY WILL PLAY HIM, AND WE WILL HAVE A MORE BALANCE ATTACK. WE ARE GONNA KICK SOME SERIOUS arse

i agree with the OP and would totally be ok with AJ being the guy if we were in the hunt for anything. realistically we're not. i know the "what could it hurt" thought process didn't get lee in the 2011 BCSNC game as time went on but would hope BH would get some PT. i'm not asking him to start but at least re-visit the rotation in the sept games (sans wisc).

THANKFULLY SOME PEOPLE ON THIS SITE ACTUALLY HAVE IT RIGHT. OUR COACHES DO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! THEY ARE BUILDING A NC TEAM, ITS COMING.

i usually tend to side with the coaches but never could make an argument for DJ to be on the field. i still can't.

Please tell us what you saw in the practices, position meetings, etc. that made you come to this conclusion.
Thank you.

Posted this on another thread but will also post this on this thread because it is the best written piece I have seen on the subject.
And I don't think you are correct regarding KB was finally ready that is why he was inserted into the line up. I think the Wisco, Miss St. & Auburn games just got it to a point it was a necessity plain and simple.

Going forward, I'm with the people calling for more playing time for Brandon Harris, but the approach has to be measured. Next week LSU plays at night, in Fayetteville, where conditions project to be very cold and possibly icy, against a solid Arkansas team on a horrible run of luck looking for a signature win. That's not the time to give the kid a start. He does need to get some meaningful snaps and a chance to earn more going forward. Jennings just isn't progressing.
But just throwing him out there would be a mistake. Harris would be set up to fail, and you risk losing both players that way. What is different about this situation versus early October, is that Harris had played well and earned his opportunity, along with Jennings struggling. That's a very different situation from just pulling Jennings out of frustration. Putting Harris in that sort of position doesn't serve either player or the team, and risks causing more damage to the situation going forward. However, they do need to start giving him a chance to earn his playing time back.

How about because our defense was shredded up the middle time and time again when Welter was in the game. You don't have to go any further back than 3 of the games this year to see that. Wisco, Miss St. and Auburn

I still believe in Cam's ability to develop BH, AJ and the next LSU QBs. Hopefully, Cam has the support and time to build a solid QB development system which works for a long period. I consider the QBs development during CLM era has been weak so far.
