Any proof that his daughter attends bama?
Of course not, but this is a message board and proof is not needed, nor is it wanted if it doesn't fit the narrative one is trying push.

True or false...the #3 guy at the big table is an Alabama graduate named Mark Womack and is the person most directly responsible for 2013's "bridge" schedule. He is listed #3 behind Slive and Greg Sankey and his job title is Executive Associate Commissioner/CFO.
True or false...the current head of officiating is Steve Shaw, long time SEC official and Alabama alumnus.
One of the SEC's few rules regarding officials is that they can not officiate a game which features their alma mater. Given that obvious admission that bias, or at least the appearance of bias could be a factor, does it not seem...well, peculiar that two of the most powerful people within the SEC are alumni of Alabama? Are they suggesting that an official calling a game featuring their alma mater would be bad, but overseeing the conference as a whole has no potential for impropriety?
I'm not asking BAMA fans to apologize for their obvious sweet perch within the SEC, but I am asking that you guys not have the fricking gall to pretend you don't have it. Own that shite! I sure as hell would...

I thought he lived in the Nashville area

Steve Shaw - the head of SEC Officiating - is a Bama graduate.

Now that Is fricking true .. Shaw is a bama grad .,
Ritter is hot and cold as a ref.. He can call some outstanding games but be a train wreck for others

Not unusual that somebody out of state goes to Bama. They have perhaps the most generous scholarship program in America for academically talented out-of-state kids. My son is on one. Full ride.
Almost 60% of the student body is from outside Alabama.

Quote from Steve Shaw -
So, no, Ritter's daughter does NOT go to Alabama.
One poster has latched onto this lie and spread it and now it's become "message board truth".
quote:
Is an official still not allowed to work a game involving his alma mater or a coach he played with or played for?
"Absolutely. Because of the intense scrutiny our guys are going to get, now if you have a son or daughter that currently goes to one of those schools, we avoid scheduling you at that school. If there's any perceived potential conflict, we're just going to avoid it."
So, no, Ritter's daughter does NOT go to Alabama.

The "best crews" tend to get the big games. I don't know in what universe the SEC thinks Ritter and Wagers are part of that club.. but.. it happens.

Your words are useless here, Chick. As of three days ago, Ritter's daughter is enrolled at Alabama, and it will forever be known that way

FWIW, the original suggestion bandied about was that he HAD a daughter that WENT to BAMA. I have no idea if that's true.
Care to address the ones I mentioned above since you seem to want to quote SEC rules.
Why is it this rule is in place in the first place? Is it because the office inherently understands that having a connection to a university can or would potentially cause one to use their influence unduly? I think we can all agree it is.
Since that's the case...why no worry about Mark Womack as the CFO and third ranked executive within the SEC, and Steve Shaw (he of the aforementioned quote) being the head of officiating BOTH being alumni of Alabama? Are we to now pretend that an official in a game can effect things based on bias BUUUUUUT...the CFO and Head of Officiating are beyond such pettiness?

Because three years ago Shaw said they avoided that?

But he graduated from Bama... Just sayin'

Ritter is from Texas .. I doubt he went to bama unless there was some tie to the school

So far we have that he is from Tennessee, Kansas, alabama, and Texas
Pretty sure he's from Nashville

now since I am an lsu season ticket holder, graduated from Loyola, and have lived in Birmingham for 20 years, I will set the record straight.
1. while Ritter was the ref, he didn't blow the calls. in 14 it was the umpire. in 09 it was another official and the replay Guy.
2. a blind man can see the league is corrupt. the calls go for the higher ranked team. and Obama is always the least penalized...not buying the well coached bullshite. not every year
3. having any alum ref or oversee the refs is like Lois Lerner overseeing the IRS.
4. they learned from 09 judgment calls are reviewable, penalties are not.
5. where is the explanation for the flag picked up Saturday?
6. in October NFL ref guru on fox Mike perrera wrote article in usatoday about somethings amiss in sec officiating citing games involving ua /ut/ and au/msu.

Have a south carolina grad that has officiated the SECCG and many others where I work. Here is the deal according to him.
The SEC and as far as he knows any other conference prohibits:
--Calling a game for a team you played for
--Calling a game for team that is coached by the same coach you played for
--Calling a game for a team that resides in the state you live in.( Steve Shaw COULD NOT call Bama games for example)
--Calling a game in which ANY family member currently attends that institution. You are suspended from calling that team and will unlikely ever call their games again.
Dont know where these lies perpetuated other than to fit an agenda but they are totally false. This from a former SEC official.
