On his hedge bet: is there any way he could tease the spread and have a chance to win both?

So we're all in agreement that he should hedge, correct?

Now here comes the real question- how much?

I would be really tempted to take Philly ML in an attempt to middle...

No....if you push a parlay it just bumps it down to the next level. So he'd get paid on a 14 parlay and get his 40k returned. I dont know how much more a 15 team parlay pays than a 14

There's a good chance this guy didn't hit his 14th bet until last night during the Packers game. It's not like he's had time to coordinate and pack his shite to hop on a plane. Honestly, this is more than likely some shmuck who lucked out and got hot at the right time. The only people I know of who put $5 on a 15 teamer are freshmen in college who just started gambling looking to make it big

Wouldn't be surprised if this dude hedges with $500

Rather than risk winning nothing if the Panthers don't cover, the guy would put $40K on the Eagles to cover to guarantee that he wins something. (or whatever the right amount would be to maximize his winnings)

You dont have to produce 40k. You literally hedge that bet with whatever you can get your hands on. If all he can get is 10k, then thats it.

He wins 95k if the Panthers cover, so puts a set amount of money on the Eagles to win with the points such as 40k

He then wins 80k if the eagles win, and 95k of the panthers cover.

There could be middle ground where he wins both bets depending on the lines.

You put a bet on the other side to guarantee a win.

So if Panther hit +7 he gets 95k.

He should now make a bet of the Eagles at - 6.5 at 40k for example.

If panthers cover, he wins 95k - 40k for a winning of a guaranteed 45k
If the Eagles cover he wins 40k

Gauranteed money at this point

Since the parlay is looking to win 95K if the Panthers cover +7, you bet half of the expected return against that (Eagles - 7), so that you have 47.5K no matter the outcome of tonight's game.

I don't think my own dad would lend me the money. He is so anti-gambling that it would be impossible to convince him it was a lock.
