In my opinion, the LSU fan base is failing this team. After the Aub game, fans were directing coaches to give up on this season.

We have a typical Miles' quarterback situation

That's always the excuse. How many practices have you been to? How many have you been to a-hole? I know 3 players on the team and they all say Harris is the better player in practice so I said he should see more snaps to help this team win. I like Miles for the most part but some people will side with him no matter what. Our quarterback play is that of a pop Warner team. Seriously.
This is right.

After the State game I would have agreed with you, but If by failed, you mean beating #3 Ole Miss and losing to #4 Bama by a series of unfortunate events after recovering what seemed to be a game winning fumble for LSU?
If the players execute better in crunch time, the Tigers win that game. Vadal's penalty and a bad kickoff allowed a good bama team to hang in and pull it out again. It's frustrating as hell, but we've been on the other side of this. Look at 2011 and 2006 or 07 when LSU wins in overtime in Tuscaloosa.
Next year will be great as long as the attrition on the Oline isn't as bad as it could be. QBs will play better and the rest of the team will be set up for a championship run.
You are seeing LSU's coaches actually build this young team into something special.

It's all part of the coaches conspiracy. I've been warning about this. The LSU coaches, players, administration and suppport staff have conspired to piss off the fans. They play the wrong players, call the wrong players and try to lose because they hate you.

This is accurate. This is all that needs to be said.
The young players on the team have progressed very impressively.
On a completely unrelated note, LSU has a typical Coach Miles quarterback situation. This is the norm and I expect it to continue.
The Miles Plan is to run the ball all game and wear down the opponent in the 4th Q or OT. When this doesn't work, LSU loses. This plan is also the norm and it will continue.
Why is this so hard for so many to accept?

Are you talking about the same coaching staff that everyone earlier in the year said would go winless in the SEc this year and get blasted by Bama?
Exactly. One tackle in bounds on OJ Howard, and the threads all say "is this Les Miles' best coaching job in his entire career," and every single response would be yes. But Howard gets out of bounds, and everyone decides it's his worst.

How many practices have you sat in on this year ? You have obviously seen something the coaches haven't.
That's the beauty of it...I don't have to sit in on even ONE FKING PRACTICE.
I can see with my own eyes whats going on, or should I say, whats not going on with our passing game.
You don't have to be a genius to see this part of our offense has not been developed properly and hasn't for years (minus Mett's 13 campaign).
But of course, its the players fault....right????????

at the very least Harris should have been receiving 40%-50% of the snaps this year.

One former player said that Les was a nice guy nut he wanted Saban to lead him into war.
No one has done Les with more.

Absolutely no way Harris can be any worse.
Well, in looking at the stats you posted it does appear that Harris can be worse. In no game has Jennings completed less than 30% of his passes (not that that is some great accomplishment). In 2.5 quarters at AU Harris was absolutely awful. He did not know what play to run on numerous occasions. He left the pocket several times when there was no rush, and the vast majority of his passes were not even close to catchable. He led LSU to nine 3&outs that game.
To compare, a true Fr. making just his second real appearance this year just absolutely ripped their defense at AU. What's the difference? A&M allows and wants their QB to be a playmaker (even if it sometimes leads to TOs and bad plays). LSU wants to do everything possible to "hide" their QB. They are so afraid that their QB will make a mistake that they are willing to forego trying to make plays through the air because of it.
I'm not saying Harris can't be a great, or even just good QB. But to definitively say playing him will be the difference in this offense going from putrid to great is laughable. LSU plays basically like a triple option team. They would prefer to run the ball 75% of the time only using the pass when they have to (3rd down) or to try to surprise a defense with a big play. It will be the same approach with Harris in.

Bama knows how to win these types of games. Our staff has does not right now. Simple. No excuses. Same thing every year now.

My biggest problem with the coaching staff has been the handling of harris. To not let him get significant reps in the games until nmsu was a mistake. Then starting him on the road against one of the best teams in the sec was just plain stupid. He should have had his first start in an easier situation like nmsu or uk at home
Posted on 11/10/14 at 9:31 am to icegator337
Exactly. You start him at Auburn and then give up on him because he got rattled like most juniors and seniors do.
This season should be about grooming the team for next year, not waiting until next year to groom them for the next.

Harris shoulda played the entire 2nd half of Kentucky. The defense had them shut down the game was in hand. He should have been played at fla. And he should have seen more time against bama. Period. You cannot justify shelving him for one half at auburn.

Geez..Step away from the fricking edge people.. coaching didn't lose this game..
