I didn't see anything of the sorts, any interaction I saw between fans was completely peaceful

Yes. I agree. This fanbase realizes they got the short end of the stick when Saban bolted for the NFL and ended up at Bama. He is a legend, may go down as the greatest coach ever, and LSU had him. It is hard for people to let go of this fact, even if they were 8 when Saban coached here. It's a what could've been story. LSU got fricked and keeps getting fricked in this deal. Period.

Are you kidding me?

quote:

Saban deserves the chant. He showed us how much he respected lsu when he went to Alabama

He left to advance his career and coach in the pros. That didn't work out as expected and Bama was open, which happens to be one of the best college coaching positions in the country. So that's a disrespect to LSU? Really?

quote:

sitting on tv during the sec championship game lobbying for his team to go to the BCSCG

Of course. Wouldn't you want Les Miles to do the same thing if LSU were in Bama's position. Oh wait, he did in 2007. Do you not remember..."LSU is undefeated in regulation" come out of Les Miles' mouth. And it worked.

quote:

Also, using his relationships he established while coaching here to recruit louisiana athletes.

So you don't want him to recruit Louisiana due to respect out of LSU? That make perfect sense.

Alabama AD, "Nick go out and get the best players in the country to come to Alabama."
Nick, "Sure boss, but I won't attempt to get an kids from Louisiana because I coached that for 5 years and that would be disrespectful."
Alabama AD, "Ok Nick, that sounds reasonable."

We owe the man respect for bringing our program back from mediocrity. If we've moved on, why are we chanting "F**k Saban"?

Our area of TS has a lot of families - with young kids. We also have a visitors section behind us.

An drunk Alabama fan got thrown out of the stadium during the 1st quarter for getting in LSU fans faces and yelling at them.

An Alabama fan behind us loudly called the Veteran that was introduced during a tv timeout a "****".

An Alabama fan began yelling non-stop once Alabama tied the score - profanity laced insults of LSU, LSU football, LSU fans, Tiger Stadium - on and on and on.

Another drunk Alabama fan was trash talking non-stop to the LSU fans in front of him as we walked down the stairs after the game as his girlfriend was pleading for him to stop. We stopped and let them pass.

An Alabama fan was complaining about the escalators on the way up to the east upper deck before the game as the worst entrance to any stadium she's ever been in. We suggested the stairs or the ramp as an alternative for future visits.

It is just unfortunate that fans of all teams can't handle their liquor and control their behavior. It's probably true that there are bad LSU fans out there, but the absolute worst examples of fan behavior I've seen over the last 14 years of sitting next to a visitors section has been from visiting fans. Auburn's are consistently bad, but Alabama's have gotten worse over the last 3-4 visits. I've not personally witnessed any LSU fans flipping off, yelling profanity, etc at opposing fans after games.

He has used the contacts/relationships he developed while at LSU with Louisiana schools/coaches to recruit for Alabama. That's the only thing that irks me about the situation. I don't recall Alabama ever recruiting Louisiana as heavily as they have since Saban went there.

Had a couple Gumps that was crying about the same thing as you behind me Saturday night. Like I asked them, so teabagging an LSU fan isn't classless?

So the teabagging incident was one fan. The FU Saban chant was a lot more that one fan. Is that really the same thing? You generalized the entire Bama fanbase off of one fan's act. And compared it to what nearly the entire student section and other fans were doing Saturday night. Not a very good comparison.

What does any of that have to do with LSU?
The chant was classless. I was embarrassed. OP, get a grip, take some deep breaths. If you didn't apologize to the family on behalf of LSU fans, then that is what you lost sleep over.

Are you sure the motivation was due to Saban having left LSU? If so, how would this explain our students chanting "FU Spurrier" to Steve Spurrier when USC has played here?

Besides, the students were just children when Saban left LSU.

What was disgusting was any Alabama fan elated with the outcome of that game after the 15 yard personal foul (judgement call ) gave their team a victory.

Cause LSU fans would not have been excited to win the game, regardless of how? That's hard to believe.

I had almost nothing but great experiences all day Saturday. Sure, a couple of drunk college kids talked some shite but that's all part of going to away games.

There is zero reason to bring a five year old to an away SEC game, IMO. I agree that what that guy did is a little much but if you bring a kid to a game, you're taking a chance that something like that could happen.

I was expecting the LSU fans to be pretty belligerent and assholish after the game but I lost count of how many people came up and shook my hand and told me congrats, great game, etc. An LSU bro bought us shots at Walkons after the game.

I was all over campus Saturday and had a great time in BR and the hospitality was great throughout.

ETA: on the Saban chant...I'm not even mad but I feel like that is one of those things the students and some of the fans feel the need to live up to the "crazy LSU fan/environment" things. My butt ain't hurt.

You will get a lot of down votes and hate, primarily from the students, and the younger ones that are doing it, but you are right. It is pathetic what the "fan" base is becoming.

There's over 100,000 upset fans leaving the game and people take individual instances of a handful of nutjobs to characterize a fan base. Every stadium will have a few of these.

Oh. F U SABAN

You can blow Saban all you want, nobody is stopping you. Saban left LSU high and dry with his refusal to announce what he was doing. He waited until the last possible second and left LSU with no time to conduct a detailed coaching search. And our fans acted this way due to the outright trash that was in our stadium. Like the two young women behind us screaming "frick you suck our dicks" with kids all around them. Or the family on the way out that had their kids yelling "roll tide" and throwing things at my brother from their vehicle while they laughed. I don't feel any remorse for telling them they were a waste of sperm and their mom-sister should have swallowed. frick Alabama, frick Saban, and most of all, frick their inbred, ego-maniac, piece of shite fanbase.

The horror

Starting with the "f*** you saban" chant!

Harsh words. Again, the horror.

And students gonna student. It happens at every stadium around the country and no one cares the day after.

quote:

We can't even hear traditional songs the band plays that i grew up listening too bc OUR STUDENTS don't know how to act!

Ban the students! Oh, and bitch, I'm from Leezyana!

quote:

Something happened last night after the game that made me not being able to sleep last night... There was an ALABAMA family, a mom, a dad, and their son(about 5 years old). They were walking out of the stadium surrounded by LSU fans i was walking right next to them. I saw an LSU FAN look the family dead into there eyes and say "F*** YALL" and flipped them off!

I saw a video of a soldier get his head cut off. The image stayed with me and I couldn't sleep for a night. What you saw and experienced is in no way something that should cause one to lose sleep.

quote:

You ruined a kids experience just cause of a loss!!

frick that Bama kid.

This needs to be fixed or i will not attend LSU games in the future!!

Well there goes our program.

Oh look, it's this thread again. The Saban chant was said 2010, 2012, and I'm willing to bet it will return in 2016.

quote:

This needs to be fixed or i will not attend LSU games in the future!! I will NOT be a part of this! End of rant geaux tigers!!

Yes you will. This shite has been going on for years and you have continued to still attend.
